I disagree with you, we should be relying on our best players. Those other guys should provide more than the role players we had those other seasons you referenced.

We have a go to down low scorer and we need a go to perimeter scorer. We weren't a tournament team those other seasons and the last two seasons we were a Big East semifinal team and a first round exit in the NCAA's. That's not good enough, we shouldn't be aspiring to be like any of those teams.

I agree with this for the most part. We need a perimeter player who’s ability to create their own offense off the double draws multiple defenders (similar to what Sanogo does but on the perimeter). Without that, it’s too easy to stall our offense. Hopefully that role can be filled by one of: Andre with an improved scoring package off the dribble, Hawkins with an improved driving game, and/or Newton,

This is a boring exercise, again I disagree with you.

I think because we're deeper and more versatile we should be/will be better.

I agree with the poster you replied to that we need to get 30+ from our two most talented scorers, Sanogo and Hawkins.

The only people who think Sanogo is an NBA prospect inhabit this message board.
I think he’ll reach the point where he’s so productive in college that even if his skill set doesn’t totally translate he’ll be given a shot as like a 2nd round pick. DeJuan Blair is a good comp he was drafted 2nd round played 4 years in the league for good spurs teams.

I never disagreed with that point and explained multiple times why that point doesn't matter.

I think we need those points from our two most talented scorers and it has nothing to do with our teams from 2017-2018 on. I told you some of the reasons why I think this team should be/will be better.

I can't help you with your reading comprehension so it became a boring exercise.

I think if you look at whenever/where Kofi Cockburn got drafted, you’ll get Sanogo’s range. He just doesn’t have NBA measurable unfortunately. Think he can go hold his own with a Embiid, Jokic, Giannas, etc.?

He should be a terrific 4 year college player for us. But a 6’9 center that needs the ball and is not a long range shooter is not ideal for the NBA currently imo.

Another thing we agree on! Although I'll point out that despte Kofi not being on NBA radars and going undrafted, he did leave after his junior year like people are suggesting Adama will

The NBA draft has little to do with college production.

Players are picked based on the projected potential. That's why there are only a few seniors selected in the first round. If Dre has to come back for his senior year that probably pushes him into the second round.

I could see him making that decision even if it wouldn’t particularly be a good one. May just want to get to the money already. At minimum he’d be one of the best bigs overseas.

Hopefully we keep agreeing on more things once the season comes for the right reasons. :)

I think he’s both more athletic and more skilled than Kofi. But he’s going to need to show that.

I think he’s good matchup defensively for those guys. It’s on offense where he can’t hang. You need girth to deal with them, of which sanogo has plenty.

Definitely agree. I just saw Kofi is a 7’ too so maybe not the best comparison.
Kofi is apparently playing in Japan this year. It looks like some players can earn around $1 million in that league, with most players making a few hundred thousand. It’s crazy how much the NBA has changed that an All-American center has no place in the league.

Unless you’re a rebounding and rim protecting savant like Gobert or Jarrett Allen, you have to be able to shoot. It’s crazy.

Above and below is from Google Translate.

Thanks. There was a translate button on the tweet itself that I used. I didn’t see anything about contract terms yet. I assume he’ll be one of the highest-paid players.

I hope Adama makes the NBA, but I think he’ll make solid money either way.

Agreed! You want your team to be a Swiss Army knife. Not to have designated scorers. That makes it easier for teams to defend you.
