The Athletic created a players poll that was sent to every team in the Big East, granting players anonymity so they wouldn’t be scared to give their honest assessments of the league. Players were instructed not to vote for their team, coach or arena. We had 14 participants from across the conference. This is how they see the 2021-22 Big East.

Hardest player to guard: Julian Champagnie (5 votes)
  • Tyrese Martin got 1 vote
Hardest player to score on: Posh Alexander (5 votes)
  • Isaiah Whaley got 3 votes
I’d love to play with…: Collin Gillespie (4 votes)
  • No UConn players earned a vote here
Which coach would you like to play for?: Ed Cooley (4 votes)
  • Dan Hurley second with 3 votes
Who will win the Big East?: Villanova (7 votes)
  • UConn had 1 vote
Favorite Big East arena: MSG (6 votes)
  • No love for Gampel/XL

All of this is fine/understandable...except for Whaley. But, ultimately that’s ok. I’m excited to see teams attempt to score on him

It makes sense that any guard who was interviewed is going to pick Posh the same way any big man will pick Whaley

14 out of 143 players is a laughably small sample size. I have a sneaking suspicion that the survey was sent to all 11 teams, 9 of them said, "This is stupid. I'm not distributing this to my players.", and then 7 players from each of the other two teams filled it out without taking it seriously.

Jay Wright wasn't the first or second choice of coaches the respondents would want to play for??? Yeah, that doesn't speak too highly of those being polled.
He was tied for Hurley for 2nd.

Remember that the chances are close to 0% that those 14 players that responded have even played a game at Gampel/XL with a full crowd
Gampel vs MSG?
Not even close
MSG all day long
