Hello! I know that the upcoming 2026-27 UConn Women’s Basketball schedule is still months away. This year there will be more games against non-conference opponents. How much insight do have already on whom we may be playing.

We start off by playing 20 Big East teams. Then I know that we play: South Carolina; Vanderbilt and Notre Dame. Offhand I cannot remember if other teams have already been announced or not. But, I believe some have. Who are they?

I know that a while back a thread was posted here about schools that we would like to play. That would be interesting to see now especially with the portal and how it has changed the makeup of various school rosters.

Allowed 32 games in 2026-27
20 BigEast
12 Out of Conference

So Far: South Carolina, Notre Dame, Maryland, Ohio State, Duke, LSU, Tenn(thanks ucmiami2).

Vanderbilt is not next year but 2027-28

Thank you for the clarity on Vanderbilt. That will be when Strong and Blakes clash. Should be fun game to be at or watch.

KK and Ashlynn basically have had home games as it was mentioned as well with playing at Marquette and at Bulter.

Your so far mentions teams will be a huge challenge has all of those teams have added many impactful players. I will assume that they try and schedule two more Top 25 teams then have four pay games.

There are a bunch of schools that I would like to see on our schedule someday if you are a UConn alumni fan. One would be TCU. Paige and Azzi are close by so they can attend. A trip to San Francisco would be another great trip. The WNBA’s Valkeries currently have five alumni. There are a number of schools in the area.

I am a Molly Miller fan and would like to see UConn start a home and home with Arizona State.

Another team that I forgot. Yes they are. Maybe the SEC should invite UConn to join.
I could see an “ associate membership” for m&w basketball and a maybe a few other sports. Very doubtful for football or even baseball with its history of CWS success and the addition of Texas and Okie. Fans were already complaining when A&M and Mizzou were added about not playing everybody every year.

So two teams each from the ACC, SEC and BIG. ASU is Big 12 so them and another one such as TCU, Baylor or West Virginia. It would be cool to schedule a top local area mid-major such as Fairfield, Rhode Island or Columbia.

I am a firm believer that Top schools should play one or two instate non-P5s per year. I don’t know how many Connecticut has. We in SC have quite a few (with one being an HBCU) so we can schedule a couple every year.

It helps the smaller schools in the state with a pay day and a shot at TV even if it’s only the Ocho. Plus, it gives a number of S.C. high school players a chance to play in the Big House in front of 10,000+ fans under the eyes of the state’s media. Also, it keeps some state legislators happy. Dawn is a gracious host though the scores can be rather shameful.

For a small state Connecticut has seven D1 schools. At the Lower Tier we currently have Central Connecticut State and New Haven. In the Ivy League we have Yale. Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac and Fairfield all play in the MAAC. Then of course our main state school Connecticut.

Open it up to Southern New England (still about half the area of South Carolina), and URI (hope they can continue their success after Tammi has departed) and Harvard, which has had some good years recently, would be possibilities. Among them, Fairfield, maybe throw in Columbia, UConn shoule be able to find a couple of takers.

I read somewhere that Fairfield was having a hard time putting an OOC schedule together. Maybe UConn could help. Did anyone hear anything about this? Or am I being delusional again?

Scheduling Harvard would be a pseudo-homecoming in Boston for Sarah, given her mom went to Harvard and works for the Celtics. And play the game at TD Garden with a 19K+ capacity since Harvard's on-campus Lavietes Pavilion only seats 1636. That'll make some money for Harvard, UConn and the Celtics. Great idea @Bigboote !

I believe UConn is on tap to play at Louisville. And am I remembering correctly that the game vs. Florida State this past season was the first of a home-and-home? I believe we'll also have an OOC game at the Champions Classic at the Barclays Center.

ChampionsClassic: UConn v MLnd 12/26

FSU confirmed in Florida this season.

Louisville confirmed too in Kentucky.

Add at Michigan 11/5. 😁

That's 10 set opponents of 12 games.

Which Big East team(s) can be Q1s - at least on their home courts ? Will the BE tournament be a neutral floor this year?

You have the basics in which UConn will go the conference season without a loss. Followed by Villanova, Creighton and Marquette.

The Big East Tournanent is in Connecticut. The Mohegan Sun as usual. However, I would not mine then having it in Philly on occasion.

I'm trying to get a handle on which OOC games will be played in Storrs/Hartford. Maryland is in Brooklyn, Louisville is in Kentucky. So are the other games (So Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Duke, LSU, and Tennessee) will be in Storrs or Hartford?? Or another neutral site? Thanks if you can clarify this for me!

Didn't we play Notre Dame and Tennessee in Storrs or Hartford last season? I believe UCONN goes to their place next year!

You are correct! We played Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Tennessee at home.

Is the SoCar game at Mohegan Sun?

Seeing all of the neutral site and away games seems to leave very few OOC games for the students. ( Maybe a pay game or two) This also looks like the toughest schedule that I can remember. I don't know much about FSU but it will be strange seeing ICE on their bench. TN looks like the only easy OOC game so far announced. It might be wise for TN to try to get our game there pushed back a year or two.
