Is that the best class ever
Shabazz
Niels
Olander
Roscoe
Lamb
Bradley
Wolfe

2 National championships, a first rounder soon to be 2 could have 4 drafted players, of course you gotta commend Shabazz, Niels, and Olander for sticking it out through the coaching change and tournament ban. Even though Roscoe transferred he still helped us win a national championship, Lamb wasn't even a top 100 player coming in and quickly turned himself into a first rounder after his sophomore year.

Ben and Emeka. Two of the top five picks in the draft. I could've been the third in that class and it'd still have the best quality.

It can be argued, that is the best duo, best as in getting 2 star players, but overall class as a whole I gotta say 2011 we hit on all those kids pretty much.

Yeah, I'd have to go with 2011 (Wolf's in there, too). Some of those guys being option B and even option C eventually leading to two national championships? Crazy.

2004:

Charlie Villanueva (top 10)
Marcus Williams (top 30)
Hilton Armstrong (#12 in NBA draft)
Josh Boone (post-grad, eventual NBA 1st rounder)
Marcus White (top 100)
Ed Nelson (ACC Freshman of the Year in 2003)

The next year:

Rudy Gay (top 10)
AJ Price (top 20)

I consider these two years to be the years in which Calhoun was at the top of his recruiting game. It didn't quite pan out the way we imagined it, but more top players came in those two years than ever before, and they had to be mixed in with holdovers like Emeka Okafor, Taliek Brown, Ben Gordon, Rashad Anderson and Denham Brown, who were also very well regarded recruits. The real head scratcher was Antonio Kellogg who came in with Gay and Price.

I would still go with BG & Emeka because of the combination of the title, conf titles, and NBA draft, '10 class and '96 class are very close as well. Amazing to go back and remember all of those threads on the old board calling for Sellers and LaFlauer to be fired after that '10 class was signed and new assistants be brought on that were ace recruiters...and it was the same cast of characters doing it again the past couple of years as well(they know who they are).

Technically it is the 2010 class, but the it is a strong class nonetheless. 1991 is pretty strong, as is the 2001 class (Ben/Emeka).

1992 was Ray Allen and Doron Scheffer along with King.

2006, with Hasheem, Sticks, Dyson, Edwards, Dyson and Curtis Kelly was excellent. that class also had Wiggins.

2003 had Villanueva, Marcus Williams and Josh Boone.

I think I will go with 1996, which had Rip, Freeman and Voskuhl.

My mistake it should be the 2010 class not 2011, although the 2011 class isn't too bad either with AD, Boatright and Daniels, hopefully more to come with that class.

Hilton & Marcus White were class of 2002, with Denham & Rashad.

2003 was Charlie, Marcus, Boone.

Ed Nelson was on the bench for 2003, but couldn't play until 2004 in Rudy & AJ's class.

Wait, can KO be included twice? Once in the 1991 class and once in the 2010 class? If he can be counted in the 2010 class, that's a winner by a landslide.

2010 best as in overachieving, Shabazz and Lamb weren't even top 100 recruits.

Hilton & Marcus White were class of 2002, with Denham & Rashad.

2003 was Charlie, Marcus, Boone.

Ed Nelson was on the bench for 2003, but couldn't play until 2004 in Rudy & AJ's class.

Say wha? Did they redshirt? I just read a Courant article from 2004 that had Hilton, Marcus and all the rest (except for Nelson) listed as Sophs. Nelson didn't have eligibility that year but he was listed. I wonder how the courant could get it wrong like that. Oh well.

Checked on Rivals, and it all checked out.

Honestly, I checked because I didn't think Hilton or Marcus White were part of that class. I remembered Hilton being a senior in that 05/06 year, which made me think he had to have come in earlier. I also remembered Marcus White getting the ball stuck in between the backboard and rim against Texas in the NCAA tourney.

They were both top 100 recruits, but still definitely overachieved.

If it was in the 2004 season then that would make sense. 2002-2003 = Freshman year, 2003-2004= Sophomore year.
