I think it is the exact opposite. Kemba and the kids were the masters of single game elimination. Probably the most amazing run of all time especially given the personel.

?

I thought I just said in a single (i.e., elimination) game they'd have a good shot?

I think the best team was 1999. Everyone understood their role perfectly and they had no fear of anyone. 2004 may have had more talent but as a team were not quite as good. They could have been eliminated in the semi-final game against Duke. The 2006 team probably had the most talent of any but did not have great chemistry. As someone else said in 2011 we had Kemba and no one else did. Ironically, we would not have made the NCAA tournament without him. The 1994 team was very strong and we will always wonder what might have been if Donyell could have just hit one of two free throws at the end. The 1995 team might have been better than the UCLA team they lost to. Clearly Ray Allen was the best player on the court that day. (I was there). The 1990 team was right up there with the best of all time and they might have been our first champions if only Tate George could have kept that ball from going out of bounds.
