If you're going to make a thread killing the offense for how they played in a monsoon thats fine but you better also make one crediting the defense for a lights out performance, holding them to 3 points, not even allowing them to threaten to score the rest of the game, and scoring 7 points of their own.

But you won't.

Yeah I was at the game, rain was miserable. Whipping wind and pouring rain the entire time. Glad we got the dub.

Hi Chief,

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but unlike basketball, football is mostly played outdoors. Natural phenomena such as rain and wind make it very difficult to develop a passing game. As you watch more football, this will become more clear. Hope this helps!

Actually, I always thought rain gave the offense the advantage since you knew where you were going on a wet slippery field. But, I agree the wind works the other way.

As for the 11am start time that was the time the CBS sports website had at the time, I was not lying.
As for Drummond - his plans changed and there was a miscommunication. I was the one who said he was going to UConn in August 2011 for the 2011/2012 season when everyone else thought otherwise on this board. Why was that?
You will look equally foolish here - you are only digging your hole deeper.
As for this thread -,I have been at every home game this year - have you? Granted I wasn't in New Orleans yesterday so I might have underestimated the weather some. Was the offensive performance starkly different than some other games this year in good weather?

In 3 out of the last 5 games 433 yds, 528 yds and 404 yds of offense. The other 2 were played in monsoons resulting in 266 yds and 227 yds of offense, so I'd say yes the offensive performance has been starkly different in good weather.

What was the offensive point production and how did that contribute to the win? That's the metric that counts. If you think the offense has not been an issue - then your goal is the current result.

More lies - you said you had inside information about 11:11 and wouldn't give up the nonsense.

Miscommunication - what a tool.

My fingers are no longer water logged so I can type.

It was absolutely torrential rain the entire game.

If u our O struggled take a look at their numbers.

A victory on the road in a monsoon. Take it.

Sorry guys - I am not satisfied with the offense - it was really horrible. Have we set our standards so low - that this is acceptable ?
You are sorry - got one thing correct.

I don't think anyone would tell you Saturday's offensive performance is/was acceptable. The team played hard in tough conditions and pulled out a victory. In another thread I compared the similarity of this game to last year's USF game. Too eerily similar to not think while watching Uconn would suffer the same fate. The defense didn't cave. The offense did just enough to keep solid field position. Combine that with the defensive effort and you get a recipe for success (win). We know it wasn't pretty, but in an ugly game when no team could get anything going, they did just enough to come out on top, something this team was only able to do twice a year ago compared to 5 times already this year. 2 games left to become bowl eligible. Let's do this!!!

That's a total lie - I posted a link to the website that had those times. I believe it was the CBS website hardly inside info claim. Get your facts straight and come back !

Did you watch the game? Did you see the conditions? Have you ever played in those conditions, let alone throw a football in conditions like that? I am confident that UConn would have had more urgency if the defense didn't score. The D was excellent and Tulane couldn't move the ball. The Offense merely had to take time off the clock.

Geezus, I swear Chap had more insight.

I sat through a UConn Maine game at Memorial Stadium in rain like that in (I think) 1974.

BTW, the UConn offense got shut out and won. I wonder if that has happened before.

.-.
If we won 80-73, would you post something about the defense being terrible?

We won. That W has now set up the biggest game at the Rent in over 5 years.

Stop confusing angry people with actual facts. As we've learned from our current political sphere, it has no positive effect whatsoever.

It was a miscommunication when you said you were hanging out with drummond and "2 Uconn bitches"? That's pretty funny.

Downpours minimize efforts by explosive players, evening teams out at talent positions. What wins most of these games is line play and of course, turnovers. We won turnovers, obviously, and at least matched their line play. Was actually surprised by the lack of fumbles.

Recruiting and coaching up linemen on both sides is #1, IMO, to ensure a consistent future of success. Sprinkling in explosive talent then takes it to the next level that leads to conference championships and winning more and better bowl games.

.-.
The UConn offense couldn't score a point against a team that let up 65 to GT, 37 to Duke and even 31 to UCF.

Remaining consistent I cannot wait for the Shirreffs era to end.
