I'm so glad to have this corner of the internet to retreat to when the world is filled with madness. My thanks to Boneyarders, especially the most enthusiastic, for a marvelous diversion from the distressing unrest around me.

todbo, I'm glad that the BY can provide you with that kind of distraction. There have been times when it has been that way for me as well.
However, sometimes it is easy to attach meaning to things that are not there, and your message proved that to me today, in spades.

As it happened, I was reading your heartfelt message about "distressing unrest," and my eye slid down the page just a little to an advertisement for a product I had never heard of which (as I read more closely) helps relieve the symptoms of menopause. And -- forgive me for this, please -- but my first thought was: "THAT's what the distressing unrest is all about."
As I say, that's a pretty irreverent treatment of a heartfelt post, but honestly, the positioning of some of the ads on this site, matched up with the messages from BYers, can result in some really interesting conclusions being drawn.

I hear ya, todbo, bro. It's part and parcel to why I like UCONN: Flight to quality. I've been a college basketball fan most all my life, but I can't stand the hype and histrionics, clown-like uniforms, and ESPN ball. You cannot watch a UCONN WBB game and not see a great pass or two, usually more. And it seems clear these are outstanding kids. On top of all that there's Marisa. It's all good.

Yes, this is the reason I like Geno and UConn:
1. No personal name in uniform. Everyone is the same, UConn.
2. No tattoos allowed in the players. Everyone looks clean and high quality.

If Gabby Williams' tattoo was visible, would you consider her dirty and low quality?
No, because that will not happen in UConn.... (small part is OK to me LOL)

That is an unfair question. Most questions which begin with "if" are. The truth is: that any tattoo must NOT be visible.....period.

What are you talking about? I asked because the implication seemed to be that tattoos make someone the opposite of "clean and high quality." It's not unfair to be curious about what the person meant. My guess is it's a generational difference. It sounded bizarre to me but that's probably because I'm under 30.

And the question wasn't some crazy hypothetical. You can see UCONN players' tattoos in footage from their practices.
