The NC game was just so satisfying on so many levels - and SO happy for Geno and CD - #12!! Mega congrats to them... UConn nation is still basking in the glow of an incredible season of resilience, filled with amazing individual stories, culminating in the crowning achievement in WCBB.
But I wanted to say a huge thank you to our departing seniors...
Kaitlyn - thank you for coming to UConn from Princeton. Your steady hand, consistency, leadership, and penchant for big shots when we needed them was the perfect fit for this team this year. No idea what the future holds for you, but UConn Nation only wishes you great success and joy whatever you do! You will always be part of our family!
Aubrey - you are a rare player who can instantly impact a game without scoring a single point. Your athleticism, intensity on the court, and tenacious play made you a fan favorite and a joy to watch. We are all so sad that you went thru so many health issues, but we are so glad you stuck it out, and got to experienced the pinnacle of success in WCBB. We all wish you incredible joy and success in your future!
Paige - you are truly an unbelievable player, person, teammate, and human being. It's rare for one so young to carry yourself with such grace, faith, class, passion, love, and charisma all wrapped up in a fierce competitor. You have been, and will continue to be, an inspiration and role model for people of all ages, but especially for young people - you touched millions of lives. We lived every up and down with you. You are one of the all time greats, a huge fan favorite, and will be missed, but we all are so excited for your next adventure, and I know we will all ride it with you.
It's so hard to say goodbye, especially to such beloved players, but when asked about future of the team, Paige gushed that it was in GREAT hands! Congratulations, thank you again seniors, and GO UCONN!!!
