This deep run we've made in the NCAA tourney, with its astounding amount of positive publicity, has turned inumerable heads and I believe will have a lasting positive impact on our perception as a valuable conference entity--even fully understanding the dominate role of football.
If you doubt it, just think how we would have been viewed (totally ignored) if Brimah doesn't keep us alive against St. Joes in our first game. That win allowed us to move on against Villanaova and get to MSG and an obvious to all showing of how we own NYC. That in turn gave rise to several respected voices in the media publically questioning the logic of the ACC and B1G's rejection of UConn. While lots of hard work remains on several fronts before we ever see a greener pasture, someday we may all look back and remember how a desperate three point play by a tall skinny freshman paved the way toward the promised land.
