I just want to thank everyone on here in advance to help entertain and get me through the upcoming season. I rarely post but if I'm online, I'm checking something here.

I graduated in '11. I brought my now wife to the '15 Houston game and didn't take much convincing after that to get season tickets and we've been to almost every home game since.

I didn't propose at the game but the day of opening night in 2018.

After years of trying to conceive, we finally did it and I would get goosebumps thinking about bringing my newborn son to his first game, introducing him to other season ticket holders.

My wife was in an accident this past Sunday. Her friend was driving and lost her life. My wife is beaten up, bruised, but after a few surgeries, will make a full recovery.

But she was 35 weeks pregnant and the biggest UConn football fan of the future didn't make it. We are beyond devastated. No words can describe this feeling.

My wife will probably not be able to go to any games but I'm sure she will want me to go to every one.
And I will be on here reading everything, positive and negative, helping me get through this.

As an alum and one UConn fan to another, I just wanted to share my story with you all.

So sorry for the loss of your unborn child. Fortunately, your wife is here to be your companion and to try again. You are blessed in that regard. What an awful accident.

Please keep us posted.

I’m so sorry to hear about your tragedy. There are no words that will mean much. As now an older guy, I realize that life is incredibly hard and few come out the other side without a lot of heartache at one point or another. What matters is you and your wife stick together and don't let your love for one another become the next victim of this sad event. Anger, guilt, depression and blame can drive you apart. Always try to remember you’re in it together. Lean into each other and don’t drift apart and isolate which also happens. Understand things will get better even though it seems impossible or hopeless but it will take a lot patience and time to heal. I’ve been there as have many.

Not sure what can be said that hasn't already been said. As a father, alumnus, and raving UConn fan, I feel your and your wife's loss. May your angel rest...and when you both have healed and are ready, your angel hopefully will return to you. Be at peace @cthog.

So sorry for your loss in this terrible tragedy. As you go through the healing process hopefully there will be many sources of comfort and distraction for both of you. Please seek them out. We'll always be here to prove your not going nuts. See you at the Rent and your lovely wife when she's ready.

I am so sorry for the loss of your baby, wife's friend and your wife being injured. My prayers are with you both and I pray for a full recovery

I will just join the prayers and condolences being wished you. Games are trivial compared to what happened to your family and friends, but games (and other things that are a break from the sameness of day to day life) will help with the recovery when the time is right.

A little update. My wife had her last surgery yesterday and is now on her way to recovering and healing. I will read her every single reply here. All the support we've received this week means the world.
The hospital let us have baby Hudson in the room all week and before saying goodbye last night, told him how much love he has from UConn country. He'll always be with us.
Too perfect not to share with you all:

I write this through tears rolling down my face seeing this picture, baby Hudson is a beautiful boy, he looks like he's dreaming of when he'll get to see you again. Wishing Mrs. @cthog a quick recovery.

Words fail me to adequately express my deeply felt sorrow for the loss of your son Hudson. I truly believe you will be reunited eventually and I hope you can find at least some comfort in that.

Please know that I have prayed for Hudson, and your wife's friend, for your wife's recovery and for you and everyone impacted by this tragic accident. While this board can sometimes get bogged down in bickering, there's not a doubt in my mind that everyone here is sending thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
