Texas to retire Kamie Ethridge's No. 33 jersey - University of Texas Athletics
Ethridge will become the first female student-athlete at The University of Texas to have her jersey retired.
The first jersey retirement for a UT female student athlete. That alone says a lot.
IMO she doesn't get enough recognition for being one of the all-time great point guards. Although Texas was loaded with talent and athleticism in the mid-80s, Ethridge was the floor general and engine on the undefeated 1985-86 Longhorns team that went down as one of the all-time great teams.
It'd be nice if they could honor her at an actual basketball game, but I guess that's hard while she's the head coach in Pullman, Washington.
