I haven't seen Texas Tech yet, and I'm also eager to see if Oklahoma can show sustained improvement or if their near-upset of UConn will prove an anomaly.

So far, anomaly. Oklahoma looks FLAT (not just geographically) and Tech has jumped out to a 12-2 lead. Sherri Coale calls timeout.

Update?
The just hit the 2Q media timeout and Tech leads 20-15. The level of play is not very good, at all. About 4 sloppy plays for every good play. It's disconcerting that this team was dominating UConn for about 34 minutes.

OK's shooting numbers are particularly brutal. 27% shooting from 2pt, 20% from 3pt, 3 of 6 FT etc,

I appreciate the commentary as the ESPN box doesn’t give that obviously. There’s some other interesting BIG12 games tonight, though these teams, like this league are very down from past years with only Baylor a top echelon team.

I will say, Texas Tech is definitely better than last year ... though that's not saying a lot because last year they were a veritable dumpster fire. Freshman Chrislyn Carr is a natural scorer. I don't expect her to maintain her 20 ppg average but she'll be in the conversation for Big 12 FOY.

OU cut the lead to 7, how’s the game play looking now?

Well, maybe slightly less sloppy but still lacks flow. The execution is just poor on both ends. Teams are hustling, though.

Madi Williams of OU picked up her 4th foul midway through 3Q and Coale kept her in there for at least a while longer.

Tech has some height in the middle with Brewer and Degrate and it's really bothering OU quite a bit.

Robertson just hit a 3 to cut the lead to 3. They're trying...

And just as I say that, Madi Williams just fouled out with 5:54 left to play. She finishes with 10 pts and 11 rebs.

A really bad block/charge call went against Llanusa and led to 2 more points for Tech. Tech's size advantage in the middle is really showing.

Oklahoma cuts the lead to 1 on a back-door cut and "and-1" by Pellington. They're scratching and clawing. Tech calls timeout.

Adding here: Coming out of the TO, Pellington gets a steal and layup to give OK the 1-point lead.

Sooners with all the momentum now. Robertson hits a 3 to cap a 11-0 run and gives OK a 62-55 lead. Timeout Tech with 2:15 to play.

Happy for Sherri as she needed this.

OU really pulled it together down the stretch. Pellington was great in crunch time. At one point she scored 7 unanswered points and also made a huge block during that stretch.

They reported that Llanusa was just returning from injury. She shot poorly (3-16) but she had timely assists and made a lot of "glue" plays to help OU in their stretch.

Texas Tech, meanwhile, showed very poor shot selection and composure down the stretch. Lots of wild shots that missed badly. Chrislyn Carr finished with 19 points but went 7 of 23.
