The two sports, at least at the higher levels of competition, that generate meaningful revenue returns to a program are football and men's basketball. It is not shocking that those coaches generally make a good deal more than other coaches. For the odd program here and there that is an aberration within a sport, like UConn's women BB, I'd guess that Geno's salary easily trumps the salary of a large number of DI men's hoops coaches. Lot's of variables in these comparisons - success of program,
size of athletic budget etc. Almost 600 grand will keep a body going for a while.
