Seven days to kickoff. The garden is spewing veggies, so we'll tailor the menu accordingly. Thinking of golabki (pronounced g0-wumb-ki, Polish stuffed cabbage) as the entrée, along with au gratin russet potatos. In deference to Towsen's Maryland address, the appetizer will be cherry hot peppers with crabmeat stuffing. I'll leave it to the tailgating wives to figure out the assorted desserts. The libations of the day will be assorted pirate named beers from the former Clipper City Brewing in Baltimore (They've changed their moniker).
editor's note: all of this is time contingent as there are extenuating circumstances that I won't bore the 'Yard with.

I like your thinking - Flying Dog is out of Frederick, MD. i could easily lubricate my tailgate with a selection from there - some really really good brews there.

Yes !!!the coach cap tailgaitin menu has begun! this thread marks the beginning of the season!! Go Huskies

It's beginning to smell like football.

We will have out-of-town visitors that love Bogner's hot dogs so we will have those and hamburgers. Lobsters are cheap these days so we are planning to have lobster rolls as well. No real MD theme for this one, we're saving that for the UMd game. Last year's opener we featured Berkshire Brewing IPA. My uncle, who does not often drink beer, made a request for it's return. He's relatively interesting. We always enjoy having visitors, so if you don't have other plans feel free to stop by. We'll have plenty. Send me a PM.

You guys are doing it right. Can't wait.

I'll admit, we do "lazy" tailgates for weeknight games, since we are all trying to book it out of work and over to the Rent. "Lazy" meaning no grills- prepared foods and cold beers, anything that will keep in a cooler.

Here is my tailgating main course ,libation , and desert list pay close attention

1. 12 pack michelob ultra chilled to 32 degrees

In the past I have made giant grinders to cut up a serve... make with no condiments, on 18" - 24" french breads.

Makes it simple for sure.

Where do y'all tailgate? I'd like to meet some of you anonymous BYer types (at least to me) so I'll try to stop by unless it's a closed invite. I'll understand if that's the case. Anonymity is an interesting thing.

I thought I was the only one who altered the tailgate menu based on the location of the visiting team

Many of us are denizens of Blue Lot. My crew hangs at my UConn Blue Dodge pickup. Usually we put out 2 popup tents: UConn Husky & Army National Guard, but we made not need them for a night game unless it's raining.

I am going to be holed up at a hotel in Orlando. Probably going to be Bubbalou's bodacious barbecue and some beer.

Appitizer- RI Little Necks (steamed in beer w/ parsley)
Main Course- Marinated NY Strip Steaks, Grilled Veggies
Libations- Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin Beer, and Michilob Ultras

I can smell the grills getting fired up at The Rent now... #GreyLot

It's a school night, so hot dogs/hamburgers , a lot of beer and juice boxes! Note: I will not be drinking any juice boxes !!

These threads almost make me feel bad that we just get pizza for any game that doesn't start at noon. If it starts at noon we get bagels.

Speaking of tailgating... This is probably the greatest quote I've ever read from HCPP

(From the Hartford Courant)
"The first game I was over there ... with the amount of space for tailgating and the excitement outside the stadium, I thought it was as good as you see in college football,” Pasqualoni said. “You pulled into there, you may have been pulling into someplace in the SEC. To me, it's just terrific. The first time I'm pulling into this stadium in East Hartford, I'm thinking, where the hell am I? What's going on here? It's pretty impressive.”

My friends same reaction at his first game and is now a season ticket holder with me.

Let's hope this isn't a preview of all of this year's post-game pressers.

I am a season ticket holder commuting from Burlington, VT for every game... I always make a point to bring some of the best beer from up here to the Rent. This week, it's Heady Topper and Switchback on the menu.
See you all Thursday!

Just got my Pay TV contract so I can stream the game on ESPN3 here in Sydney. Game time of 9:30am on Friday morning so I think I'll be having Raisin Bran with milk as my "tailgate" but presuming a victory it will be perfect timing for a three beer lunch to celebrate.

To all those attending in person - have a great time. Be safe.

EDIT: Forgot that they call it Sultana Bran here. Crazy Australians.

I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with Switchback... wish we could get it here in CT!!

Heady Topper? Want a safe "landing spot" in Blue Lot? :)

(Been meaning to try heady topper forever but hasn't crossed my path)

I blame my 25+ pound weight gain (since moving to Burlington 6 years ago) almost exclusively on Switchback. Easily one of the most delicious and addictive beers in VT.

Will be in Blue Lot once again this season... If you run into me, I'll have one for you!
