I for one am delighted that UTENN was able to get their act together and "win one for the gipper."
Speak about pressure; impossible to know what those young woman (and the staff) have had to go through this season.
It would be fun to play them in the NCAA's, a interesting matchup.

Congratulations Vols!

If anything, it should serve as inspiration for UConn- they've lost some SEC games ths season, but have come back to avenge all of those defeats (other than Arkansas, who they "pre-venged" by beating handily earlier in the season).

They're dangerous in any given game, but not consistent enough to win six in a row. Probably not four, even.

I don't see how beating Vandy, South Carolina and LSU makes them dangerous. Their best wins are still vs. Rutgers and Miami.

I agree. They played hard for the tourney, but I think they are inconsistent. I think they win 2 or 3. At least they avoided another double-digit loss season.

I think, with hesitation, that they could be a force in the NCAA but I think on a neutral court against a good team that plays tough----they go down!

As Alex noted, they are dangerous in any game. Over 3 or 4, they are likely to have a clunker. They clearly have talent.

Bingo. their wins down the stretch weren't big time blowouts of ranked teams. they were 10-15 point victories over unranked teams. if it gives their fans hope, bully for them. but let's be honest. they have 3 teams in the top 25. winning the SEC is akin to Baylor winning the Big 12. the way Kentucky has collapsed in the last month of the season (they were 4-4 in their last 8 games with losses to unranked Alabama and LSU twice), makes any win over them a lot less impressive.

so congrats to them. they will probably get a 3 seed, which they deserve, or maybe a 2 seed if the committee feels generous. just because they won the SEC does not entitle them to a 2 seed. if the committee does it right and looks at the entire season with losses to 4 unranked teams, no way do they deserve a 2 bid.

on paper, few teams are as impressive. fortunately, the games are played on the court.

Your right Eric!

Duke/Maryland/Miami are locks for #2's in my book! It's that 4th one that I am unsure of:

Kentucky?
Tennessee?
Delaware?

I just don't know.

I think in the end it will go to the VOLS but I cant figure it out....

Thank goodness for a committee!

well, you know HF, the committee apparently relies a lot on RPI. i fail to see how a team with 8 losses can have an RPI of 5 or 6 or something. you'd think 4 losses to unranked teams would drop you a bit, but apparently not. something not right with their calculations. it doesn't pass the logic test.

RPI over-emphasizes SOS. But even Sagarin has Tennessee at #6 in his consolidated rankings. I think they're going to be a #2 seed.

And don't discount the possibility of them being in our bracket.
