All starts Thursday night exhibition game vs Carson Newman. We get a glimpse of what this new style of play will look like.

I am looking forward to watching. I know it is only an exhibition game but still a glimpse into a program and what they are looking to do going into the season.

Interesting choices. I can see it working against smaller teams but I doubt that's the lineup come SEC play when most teams will have multiple taller players to defend against. Having Sarah Puckett as the only natural front court player on the court will be a recipe for disaster, especially against the top of the league.

I had forgotten Tennessee got Samara Spencer. She will be a good player in that system.

Caldwell starts the five players based on performance. It can change game to game. This pace is going to to tough for some teams to keep up with. Yes Spencer is going to do well in this style of play.

The Lady Vols are going to be scary once the players adjust to this system. What I like about coaches that play this style of basketball, they are ALL IN and the players, not all but the majority of the players, love this style of play because they are developing that aggressive mindset. In attack mode from the jump. The Lady Vols will be a Top 5 team by January of the 2025.

Cooper had played a year at South Carolina. So she has experience at this level. She looked really good on defense. Quick hands and 16 points on offense. I think she's going to have a real good season.

Top 5 just two months from now? Maybe top 25?

Whoever has Tennessee on the schedule. Had better bring their running shoes. Tennessee had 94 shots against Carson Newman.

It's Tennessee. They are like Alabama in football. Win a few games and your name alone is worth 10-15 votes/places. :)
My thought is that success or failure will come down to whether or not Coach Caldwell can recruit athletes that will do well in her system. Coach Warlick could recruit but wasn’t a good strategist. Coach Harper didn’t seem to be able to recruit or coach at the elite level. I think Coach Caldwell has shown she can do more with less. She has to prove she can recruit to do more with more.

Tennessee had 81 shots against Carson Newman last year, or a difference of about 3 shots per quarter. The real difference was in 3 point shooting. 19 of 48 this year vs 7 of 27 last year. It’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

True. I was trying to point out the pace in which they play. Tennessee isn't at that pace yet. That coach Caldwell wants. This was the first game. They will get there.

Something interesting in 2008 Tennessee defeated Carson Newman 135-55.

I agree with you on the success or failure will depend on if Coach can recruit those players, but I am sure she will find those players. She has the brand "Tennessee Lady Vols" and that uptempo style of play with 3 point shooting every trip down the court, she will find the players. Plus I love how she develops players. Those so called 2 & 3 star players, she turns them into 4 Star players. If she can cause enough chaos in the SEC over the next 2-3 years, she will get those recruits.
