12-2 TEN midway through the first. I guess Kentucky is brutally bad this year. Can't even get up for a game like this.

This may be the last season we see Matthew Mitchell there. They are really not a good team.

Tenn has turned the ball over 11x and KY has yet to turn one into points. KY has the athleticism of a D1 team and not the size. But their execution is terrible in all four phases offensively and defensively.

The Lady Vols are looking solid this year. They are controlling this game on both ends of the floor. Kentucky just don't have the horses this season.

True to form and throughout the season Tenn plays 4 on 5 on fast breaks as Russell fails to be involved. Only occasionally as a trailer.

I don't know about you guys, but every major game today, except ND, is on TV here in NYC. I wish I had 10 TV's right now.

Tenn didn't beat much of a team, but it's another game they won that they should win. Every one of those is a good win.

Meanwhile, 27 secs left Duke losing to Miami 50-48.

Kentucky played TN fairly even except the first quarter. I’m surprised the final margin of victory wasn’t higher.

No thread about the surprising Tn Lady vols would be complete without a word from ya girl Margo:
She starts her rant with a reference about UConn.

How many fast break points does Russell get per game, due in part she's still running back to defend her basket, when teammates pass her the ball at half court?

Trying to give opponents a false sense of security.
THAT’S BRILLIANT!

I'm thinking turnovers aren't a part of the strategy, but the style of play that may be prone to high turnovers. Makes me think back to the high turnover system UNC had with success back in the Ivory Latta era.

Earlier in the season, Holly pretty much said this. She said that she wasn't too concerned about turnovers that happen from being the aggressor and trying to make something happen.

The unfortunate part of the players learning on the fly is that there are going to be games where the turnovers are high. The same passes that worked in high school are not going to work at the college level. Evina will continue to learn that the defenses are quicker and those gaps close up quicker. She'll adjust. Two of her turnovers were charges. She also has to learn to pull up and avoid the quick defenders that know the scout and are coming over to take the charge.

Also, it's good for Holly to allow them to figure out what works and what doesn't work. Experience can be the best teacher. The good thing about turnovers from being aggressive is that those type of turnovers are usually dead ball situations that allow for the defense to get back and get set up.
