"Barker" is aptly named, as it's both her last name and her part time sideline activity towards her teammates. I watched her pretty closely when the Lady Vols came to Stanford and she had about the worst body language, attitude, and interactions of any player I've ever seen in person. I can't imagine that doesn't trickle down to the rest of the team, which is too bad, because I got the sense last year's Tennessee team was really bought in even when a number of them hadn't been recruited to play in Kim's system. Two thoughts-
1. Vols looked exhausted/checked out in the fourth quarter.
2. I don’t care how many athletes you have, if they can’t play together, it will be ugly. I don’t want to call out individual players, but the chemistry looks to be a hot mess.
When the player with the most shots has the worst shooting percentage, it’s not a good recipe."Barker" is aptly named, as it's both her last name and her part time sideline activity towards her teammates. Generally speaking, a point guard who cares more about winning than being the team’s high scorer.3. Need more than just athletic players. A leader. High bball IQ.
Usually goes quiet after a loss, but quickly rebounds as soon as they win again.Hope all is well stwainfan
I did notice that 5 players were getting more minutes than the other 5, so there was a slight adjustment to the platoon system. But I dont see her abandoning -- it's her thing. And she's surely sold it to her recruits.Hope all is well stwainfan. That was not a good look for CKC. I did not see this happening. I had Tennessee winning this game by a few points because Louisville struggled against an undisciplined UNC team. Even in the 3rd quarter, I said that Louisville will probably fizzle out because they started rushing and not running an offense. They would come down the floor and quickly hoist shots. I tried to watch CJW’s reaction each time. My question to you is that do you see CKC sticking with this “Style” for the remainder of the season? The Vols had almost as many turnovers as the Cards. Some of the turnovers that Louisville committed were “unforced errors” as they say in the tennis world. I’ve said many times that Serena Williams beat herself more than opponents did due to her unforced errors. This “Style” doesn’t let any of the players get into a rhythm. The DII division is not the same as DI. The coaching at this level and the athletes are much better with the top teams.
THIS game the shifts were lopsided because not a lot of fouls were called where they could make the shift.I did notice that 5 players were getting more minutes than the other 5, so there was a slight adjustment to the platoon system. I think a more significant rethinking would have to be done in the off season.
I've followed this experiment with some interest. My gut has said that since no pro teams do this, it's probably not effective against high-level competition, but I'm no expert. And the final verdict isn't in yet.
They did let them play.THIS game the shifts were lopsided because not a lot of fouls were called where they could make the shift.
I dont know if that hurt TN. Vols were slapping and bumping on every possession, so they could've racked up a lot of fouls. They did let them play.
Actually not that bad today. They scored 76 pts on 72 shots, which is the equivalent of 53% from 2.The Lady Vols with a nice bounce back win tonight. The Lady Vols are decent on defense but struggle greatly on the offensive end. 18/48 from 3-point land. 29/72 from the field. Oh my.
18/48 from three is actually pretty good as a team. 29/72 is chuckeresque, though. The Lady Vols with a nice bounce back win tonight. The Lady Vols are decent on defense but struggle greatly on the offensive end. 18/48 from 3-point land. 29/72 from the field. Oh my.
