Where do y'all be finding these schools?
It's a different team to play. Columbus State won 21 games last year. I guess Kim wanted to change things up. Normal Carson Newman has been the exhibition game.

Out til 4:30 am celebrating the huge 100-point win. Isn't she back from suspension?

.-.
1) she learned nothing
You mean those 2 weeks of being banned from practice didn't scare her straight?

I don't take pleasure in her messing up her life, but I knew that "punishment" was too weak.

I said the exact same thing

I'm torn. I'm pro the decriminalization of weed but also pro following the laws of the state you reside in. So, while the charges are an "eye roll emoji" (unless she was high while driving), she did technically break the law and it is the second offense in a very short period of time. I doubt the Tennessee program will do anything since they gave her a light slap on the hand after admitting guilt to burglary and domestic violence charges...

With that said, apparently she was granted judicial diversion for the first charges, which means she had to be out of trouble for 11 months before her charges could be expunged. So this incident could mean that judicial diversion is now off the table and she has to face criminal charges for her original domestic violence and burglary charges. I have a feeling she may be doing some jail time unless her lawyers can work some magic.

I would guess that she will not do jail time but will be resentenced to “regular” probation meaning drug tests and reporting to a probations officer and paying probation costs. However, I base this on what would happen where I practice in Georgia. I don’t practice inn Tennessee.

You know more than me, so I'll lean on your expertise!

Is weed still illegal in Tennessee? Here in CT it is not, but if you drive while high or have a certain amount on you, that is illegal.

I assume it is or she would not have been arrested . Most southern states it is but rarely enforced for less than an ounce unless the cop wants to have your vehicle searched as “ inventoried incident to an arrest “

My understanding, possibly wrong, was that it was 4 am and she was driving erratically, so she got pulled over.

.-.
Not even about the weed for me. But…don’t be driving. It’s about not taking advantage of the break she was given and continuing to make bad choices. And most importantly. I hope those who consider her family or a friend…get some real help for her because the two weeks off thing…didn’t work.

Why is she even driving around at 4 am the morning hours after a game with weed in the car. Driving so erratic she got pulled over.

The baptism didn’t work. She should be kicked off the team. She should have been kicked off in the first place.

I live in NY where weed is legal. LMAO, people walk down the street smoking blunts and cops are standing on the sidewalk watching them. Wild times....

Now, she clearly has shown signs of needing to check herself, but this should not be a thing,

If she was just smoking on the street, sure. But she was driving right?? And it isn’t legal in Tennessee. And she just had a dv charge a couple months ago. So yea it should be

Well, maybe.

DWI on marijuana is rarely charged unless a person has one burning in the ashtray, the cop can clearly smell it, the driver has been driving erratically, driver has red eyes and answers questions bizarrely. Even then, it’s hard to convict at trial because states don’t have equipment like breathalyzer to test them. Most cops are just gonna charge for possession.

Being charged with possession doesn’t prove or even legally imply DWI.

The question is whether a judge in Tennessee will revoke a pre trial sentence based on pot possession? In my experience some are and some are not. Country judges are city judges aren’t.

The real question is what the coach decides. Personally, I wouldn’t kick her off the team, but I would immediately suspend her (from even practice) until legal matters are resolved and might make it for the semester or maybe for the entire season.

I think Kim did the right thing.
It's a tough call regardless which decision she made. Do not envy her one bit as they were looking at Whitethorn being a keep piece of this roster.
