With the smiley face i assume this is known....but i sat next to his grandfather last year at the temple game. I was told he wanted to go to Uconn and ppgdl wouldn't even pick up his calls. The staff had no interest apparently.

It had to be said.

I didn't know that, thanks for sharing but I almost wish you hadn't. To hear that and to listen to the commentators refer to him as on of the best LB's in the country if very frustrating.

They should have started the conversation with "Did you see last night's Matlock?".

Back to the topic... Temple was impressive. And I have no desire to give them credit at all. They just seemed to have another gear.

Temple is good. SMU is bad. But the score was 45-40 with a couple minutes left in the game. The gap between the teams is smaller than most people think it is.

I would agree with you but that game pretty much mirrored a lot of SMU games from this season. Is the gap between SMU and TCU also smaller than people think? I mean, the spread last night was only 11.

The common perception is that Temple is currently "elite" (they're #22), whereas SMU "absolutely sucks" because Sagarin has them at #128 (or whatever). I'm just saying the gap between them is smaller than what the casual football fan assumes.

But you're right; that point spread wasn't far off. Temple scored two TD's in the last couple minutes to make it look worse than it was. I guess the people that bet aren't fooled by the immense gap in the rankings.
