MSG is the mecca of basketball. If you already hold the Hope Diamond why would you want to trade it for an emerald? besides, it stinks in Brooklyn. That's why the Dodgers left.

Thanks BNich you beat me to it. Now, look guys, going to the ACC is a mistake. Look what happened to BC. No natural rivals. their closest conference opponent is like 7 hours away driving wise. You don't gain anything basketball wise, actually you lose because instead of a 2 1/2 hr drive to NYC for the conference tourney you'll be traveling halfway down the Eastern seaboard. Don't think for a minute that fans of UNC, NC St, Wake and the ones even farther south are gonna want to go through the madness that is NYC more than once to see their tourney. Football wise the conference will be much stronger than the ACC once the dust settles. Coach P has the program moving in the right direction so lets just suit up, strap up, find your seat before the game starts and enjoy yourself no matter who's lined up on the other side of the ball. Screw the ACC. Why trade one basketball conference for another when the football will be better here? The TV money is going to be there. Lets just get UConn football ranked every year and everything else will take care of itself. Within a decade Syracuse will be begging to come back, mark my words.

Insane. ACC a mistake? Begging to come back?

Also, the money is most certainly NOT going to come anyway. ACC makes many times more.

Some of our best natural rivals just went to the ACC.

Did you just say "many times more"? Do you understand how multiplication works? So, if the ACC makes $13MM/year/year, you are saying that is "many times" more than the Big East? How much is many? 5x? 10x? 20x? You realize how wrong you are? In your relentless effort to be the Board Downer you make a lot of stuff up.

The reality is the ACC is probably worth a lot more than the Big East, but they are paid about $5MM/year/school below market and they are locked in a 10 year deal and that isn't going to change. Market for the Big East on the next deal is probably still over $10MM/year/school (per Memphis' President, who knows more than you). $13 > $10, but it is not "many times" more.

All of it. We pick up Memphis, Temple, Navy and Boise St. I am happy with that. Can't see why anybody is so enamored with the ACC.

BC is the example of what happens when you join the ACC.

Memphis or Clemson. Temple or Miami. Navy or Virginia Tech. Boise St or Florida State. Yeah that seems like something to get excited about. The Big East is the land of misfit college programs. Maybe Boise State wins their game but otherwise the Big East gets shutout.

BC's problem is they were geographically isolated (not a problem if UConn got an invite and since SU & Pitt are already in). Also, Boston is not a college sport town (unless it's hockey). Harvard might attract more exposure than BC. The Old Town is all about the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots and Celtics in that order. UConn always would have made more sense for the ACC.
