Cardosa isn't struggling.
This is not one of her better years. By some standards, Jen R. is struggling also.
At mid-majors - which Temple is and Hartford has become - there are parameters that make great consistent success difficult. Recruiting can be hard, but Dawn when she was at Temple and Jen were able to put their schools on the map due to their celebrity. And, because the level of player is generally not at the top, if you play a highly competitive OOC schedule, you are going to take some losses. Hopefully, you then get into conference play and come close to running the table.
Marist, which I saw play on TV yesterday, did not have the best OOC record, but is currently running the table in the MAAC, which is not a very good conference. A balancing act in terms of preparation and RPI building vs. the opposite approach of playing the Little Sisters of the Poor.
FWIW, Arizona tried the latter approach, got off to a gaudy one loss OOC record, and is paying for it with losses in the PAC12. Thursday, we lost (in OT) to last place Utah. Ugh.
