Do you think the Minnesota will make the NCAAT?
Not JellyBean, but a smart committee should be looking not to reward a team with the combination of 0 Quad 1 wins and a 100% Quad 4 nonconference schedule. Incentivize coaches to schedule better. Also didn’t beat a top 100 Net team away from home.

Looks like Indiana was in control just about the whole way, beat Oregon 78-62.

Minnesota doesn’t deserve to make the tournament imo. Some team like Richmond or unlv will probably lose and allow a team to steal a bid. And that should boot them out.

Oregon may have been in a fairly positive situation for the NCAA last week but I am less sure at this point. Losing their last two games @UW and to Indiana today by double figures will not help their case. Sets up a sacrificial lamb scenario with a double digit seed. Oh well. My dreams of a 20 win season game up a bit short.

Well my basketball related PTSD is back. Dawgs give up a 16-2 run to end Q3. 5 TOs and 9 straight missed shots before they finally hit one. Went from up 3 to down 11.

Congrats to Michigan. Washington just couldn't overcome that horrendous stretch in Q3. 66-58 final. Olson led the way. Daniels had a great game for the Huskies but needed more help.

I find it fascinating how many people from Pac 12 Network are now with Big 10 Network. Just this game, Krista Blunk was on the call and Ashley Adamson and Elise Woodward were on the halftime/post game panel.

Your bigs had to have missed at least 10 point blank shots. Indiana just had too much offense for Oregon.

What a difference a year makes in terms of prices and attendance for the WBB Big Ten Tourney. My session 2 tickets cost $.41 each on StubHub, along with $2.75 in fees, for a grand total of $6.32 for a pair of tickets. Sat row 6 in first of two upper decks on the side. Fine seat. Gainbridge Fieldhouse much better place to watch BB than Target Center.

Wow, how and what did it cost at the Target Center?

Everybody repeat after me: you can't let McCabe shoot 3s. I just keep seeing it, and I just don't understand what all the coaches in the Big 10 are doing. Olsen can kill you from all over the floor, but it's not like everybody else from the Hawkeyes is a deadly scorer. Whoever is guarding McCabe has to stay home and actually guard her. It's not complicated. She's buried 4 from distance tonight against Michigan St.

So many of these Big 10 teams are so close in their conference records that seedings in the tourney don't seem to mean much to me. #11 seed Iowa is about to beat #6 seed Michigan St. and that doesn't seem like an upset to me at all. Regular season records are 11-7 and 10-8. Nebraska over Illinois earlier didn't seem like much of an upset either and that was #10 over #7.

Iowa 74-61. Ava Heiden was big for them in Q3 when they started to pull away. I think career high 11 for her today.
Iowa looked really good. Just good ball movement and Olson was brilliant with her decision making today. Heiden was massive off the bench too and really got them back into it after a slow start to the 3rd.

I think they'll upset Ohio State tomorrow. Iowa has won 10 of their last 12, with the only losses to UCLA on a bad call and an OT loss at Ohio State.

Definitely not .20 cents. Holy smokes! They were $5 bucks. The whole tournament in Minneapolis was $30
Two years ago went to tourney and an all session pass was around $30-40 like Jelly Bean said, although Target Center assessed another $40 per ticket in those dreaded "convenience fees". Seems like I paid around $170 for two tickets when all was said and done. No reserved seats (except for the teams' contingents); went to the arena about 30 minutes prior to tip and found seats about 5 rows back on the corner of the court. Quarterfinal game attendance for the Iowa game was about 70% full, but I seem to recall they didn't use the upper tier of seating. Semis and final game could still get good seats by going about 45 minutes early. Mostly Iowa fans for the 3 games I saw.

Last year I got an email shortly after Thanksgiving telling me I'd have the opportunity to buy tickets day prior to general public because of previous year's purchase. This time seats were reserved and the price was much higher, maybe around $350 after all their fees for two tix. Ordered within 15 minutes of seats being released and got tix about 15 rows up about even with the hoop. Caitlin Clark effect in full stride at this time, so arena mostly full for all Iowa games...even upper tier. Don't think they sold out reserved seats so eventually opened up general admission in the upper deck later on. They were even clearing the arena between sessions to be sure they got maximum turnstile effect.

I understand the B1G wanting to move the tournament around but they're going to sell a lot fewer tickets this year than last, 1000's less.
Watching games yesterday and today the arena was very empty; saw attendance for today's Iowa/Michigan St was around 7000 while Gainbridge seats 18,000. Part of the drop off is due to CC being gone, but most of that is the proximity to Iowa. Most of Iowa could drive to Minneapolis in 2-4 hours, more like 6-9 to Indy. Iowa did sell out for the entire season this year without Caitlin.

2023 attendance: 47,833 2023 Big Ten women's basketball tournament - Wikipedia

2024 attendance: 129,512 2024 Big Ten women's basketball tournament - Wikipedia

If you look at each session's attendance in 2024 you'll see that every session was sold out...that's because you had to buy an all-session pass to get in the door. Even with more teams and 1 more game this year the attendance is going to be much, much lower. Final figures will be interesting.

This is why I never get caught in where a team is seeded. There are some teams that are clearly more talented than other teams but on any given night, if your shot is falling and you are executing right, it will just be your night. This Iowa/Michigan State game, much like Nebraska/Illinois game, was evenly matched teams.

Now for today's slate of games, UCLA and USC should win without too much struggle but if they aren't playing well and executing well, they could suffer the same fate as other teams and then we would have some legit upsets. Michigan/Maryland, evenly matched. 4/5

Yup. That's why I said play between the teams in the middle of the pack was going to be a rock fight. Any team in the batch can come out swinging and go on a heck of a run if they're on their game.

And I'll say it again, those impatient Iowa fans better have an apology card ready for Coach Jensen. The team is peaking at the right time. The game against tOSU should be a good one.
