The only parallel in women’s sports is North Carolina’s dominance of women’s soccer in the 90’s. Ultimately that was good for women’s soccer in a number of ways. It led to international leadership, leading to increased participation in youth soccer and ultimately more talent in college soccer with much more parity across many schools. Likewise, UCONN has lifted all boats in women’s basketball.
