But she got called for it, no?Man, BG sent that one player to an ice bath with that last screen. I bet she wishes she had not try to fight through it.
But she got called for it, no?
USA wins 79-66. The officiating was, well, interesting. Someone on Team USA received a technical, may have been Geno.
Parker was really good on both ends.
I chuckled - BG had to squat down a long way to make that an upper body collision. Then the Italy girl was wobbly for a minute, sort like she was gonna start stumbling around in circles. But they threw the ball in to her.She did. But that player could be a little smarter with almost no time in the game. I sure wouldn't run into that with the game out of reach.
That's one of the things where Parker is at her best. When she can score or pass. So difficult to defend.Team USA settled down at halftime, were able to get the ball inside to Griner and defended a little better. Geno had Parker playing a lot like she did for the Sparks this year, mostly on the perimeter on offense, pulling her defender away from the lane and using her height/passing skills to get the ball inside. Parker and EDD seemed to have good chemistry on the court.
Stewie scored 3 pts and grabbed 5 boards. She played like the youngest, deferring to the older players. She used her length nicely on D, getting some deflections and a steal. Great experience for her. You can see where she still struggles to get good position in the lane. Needs to keep getting stronger.
In a goofy kind of way...(ahem)Stewie's pidgon-toed gait is kind of endearing.
It is interesting because if you look at the left leg planting on the floor the alignment is just about perfect, so the 'pigeon toe' aspect is more to do with the push off the floor/pull through of the leg.In a goofy kind of way...(ahem)
