Thank you RealHusky and others. That was just GREAT!!!!

:)

You are most welcome, Warbler. It was great seeing the team and I am confident that they will gel in time to put on a good show for Milford in London!

RealHusky--any chance you played for RealMadrid? :D

There is a chance, I suppose. If memory serves though the chances of that are slim.

Your Real Madrid theory is the second I have heard from the Boneyard for my alias. The first theory was that I was admitting to being a bit too well fed. The truth is that, being in Seattle, I didn't want to be confused with being a purple, faux Husky...

When is their next warm-up game again? I seem to remember reading that it was a closed scrimmage against Japan ....?

Right, that was yesterday. Nothing about it at USA basketball, so they really did mean closed.. Next, for USA is an exhibition vs. Brazil, in Washington DC, July 14.. And then they are off to Europe for final preparations.

My guess is Japan wanted the scrimmage closed, because I think they still need to qualify, and they did not want to be scouted.

Read somewhere that Japan scored 4 baskets in the first half.

Here it is....

The Americans had their way with Japan in the scrimmage on Sunday. They won all four quarters, giving up just four baskets in the first half. The Japanese players seemed more in awe of their American counterparts than being focused on playing basketball.

After the scrimmage, the Japanese players took photos and asked the Americans for autographs. Two even exchanged jerseys with Diana Taurasi and Catchings.

“That happens a lot,” said Taurasi, who was sporting a Japan warm-up jersey.

Good find! In that pic, I think Tina has a red jersey on. Maybe that means she participated in the scrimmage?

We should have some news for the Sun soon re her groin injury.
