As a reminder, the team of the decade is calculated by awarding points for regular season success (a proxy for which is NCAA tourney seeding) and performance in the tourney. Specific point awards are as follows:

#4 seed- 5 points
#3 seed- 10 points
#2 seed- 20 points
#1 seed- 30 points

Regional semis/Sweet 16 finish - 5 points
Regional finals/Elie 8 finish- 15 points
National semis/Final Four finish- 30 points
National runner-up- 40 points
National champion- 70 points.

Results through seven seasons (2010-2016) are below. As you can see, UConn is 75 points away from wrapping up the #1 ranking for he decade. There are three seasons left, and even if #2 program Notre Dame won three NCs in a row as #1 seeds at the tourney's outset, 75 points for UConn would still guarantee a finish in front of the Irish. A #1 seed or two, some regional semis or finals, or even a final Four finish, would be sufficient over the next three seasons to seal the deal.

So without further ado, here are the rankings (points total in parentheses):

1. Uconn (620)
2. Notre Dame (390)
3. Baylor (330)
4. Stanford (305)
5. Tennessee (235)
6. Duke (170)
7. Texas A&M (165)
8. Maryland (165)
9. Kentucky (145)
10. South Carolina (140)

Louisville is #11.

Onward and upward for the University of Connecticut Huskies...

I'd be really surprised to see any changes in 1 through 4. And TN has a damned good chance to hold on to #5 (which kind of amazes me). MD and SC have a solid shot to overtake TN but the gap is pretty big.
