Taris' FT Shooting

Haven't seen it mentioned, but Tarris has really worked at improving his FT shooting. Looks, smooth, consistent and relaxed.

Unfortunately his percentage is currently worse than last year.

In fact, almost everyone is shooting a worse percentage than last year and it's becoming a problem.

Solo and Silas currently slightly below last year (but still both good). Malachi normally a 70+ percent is in the 50s. Stew was in the 70s last year and is now in the 60s.

Alex really the only one has jumped from 82-->84%.

The FT% is one of 2-3 key issues killing this team from being elite.

Malachi has never shot under 70% and today he sits at close to 50% (14-25). Needs to shore that up especially since he is on the floor a games end.

Tarris is near his career high, 67%. But given he has been in and out of the line up, hopefully he will get into a rhythm and improve this year.

Regression to the mean is going to happen at the best time.

This is all still a work in progress. Mullins has only shot 3 (2 when he was fouled on purpose). I think once he’s getting to the line a bit more, and hopefully Silas and Solo are 80 percenters with AK, we’ll be pretty strong. Would like to Tarris be a little better - and then obviously Smith is important when we want late game ballhandling.

Have noticed that Solo has sped up his pre-shot routine on FTs this year vs last year. Not a criticism just an observation.

Does not look like it to me. They all need to spend hours on the line in practice.
