In a transition year Tarin Smith did some valuable things for the team. Tarin stabilized our backcourt with his ball handling most of the season. At times Gilbert was down, then Adams, sometimes both. I shudder to think how shaky we might have been without him. We were never pressed successfully. He drove the ball, created assists and scored, played tough tough D for 30 minutes a game, and helped bring a toughness and maturity to the team. As a teammate and player he helped Hurley and the coaches establish the new culture, the no quit, in your face effort and pride, which Hurley demands of the program and its players.

The road continues. Thank you Tarin, best of luck.

I really liked rooting for Tarin. Not always the most effective player but he did some good things for us this year. Seemed like a good teammate too.

Provided a lot of help in a tough transition year. Great hustle. Great attitude. Added scoring that we desperately needed. He'll be missed...

Tarin won't go down as one of the great UConn Point guards but as you said he filled a role for us that may be difficult to fill next season. We will be short one true PG. Thank you Tarin!
