I don't know if TARA thought about GENO catching up to her total wins and if she did, she had to realize that Geno was going to pass her. It was gracious of TARA acknowledge that he is a special coach and did more for Women's BB and his players by guiding his players in their lives. GENO knows NO_ONE is going to pass him. There should be a course in college that teaches his philosophy about the game and it's players. GENO is considered a Genius when it comes to BB and deservedly so. GO GENO!!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!

I think Geno and Tara have always shown mutual respect for one another.

I'm also sure both Geno and Tara realize that which ever of them coached last, I don't want to say longer, since Tara has coached five more years than Geno, would hold the record. That fact really doesn't diminish either of their accomplishments.

Both coaches should be congratulated on outstanding careers and for advancing the game for women. I suspect Tara knows and appreciates that the three year string of unbelievable bad luck with injuries at Uconn is largely responsible for her passing Pat's record before Geno.

She got her big day in the spotlight as a result, and now Geno gets his. As CL82 indicated they both knew the last to retire would likely wind up at the top of the heap at the end.

Did she pass Geno? I feel as if she had always had a substantial lead given that she had been coaching five years before Geno became a head coach. Give it that head start, it is amazing that he was able to catch her.

This thread proves that no one can hold a grudge like a Boneyarder. I had to delete posts because of the insults hurled at Coach V due to the poster’s opinion on what a she was thinking 30 years ago. How do people live with that much abhorrence in them?
