Somehow I managed to convince my entire family to join me for the spring game and tailgate beforehand.

1. Anyone else going early and making a day (or full afternoon) of it?
2. Have they announced when the lots are opening up? I can't find it on the UCONN website.

Go Huskies!

1) Yes
2) That I'm not sure. Tradition says they open 4 hours before (ie 11am) but I'm not sure.

Also - just checked the forecast - Clear, 70 and sunny!!

Yeah, weather looks awesome for the afternoon. Great day for football!

I think I read 3 hours before. That's when we're going.

I heard gates open @ Noon. Personally I will be there around 1PM with some friends and family to grill some steaks and enjoy some football.

You are correct. For confirmation, I emailed Rentschler and received the following:

Parking lots will open at 11am. Normal tailgating rules will be in affect. We will allow 1 and 1/2 hours post game tailgating. Please let me know I you have any additional questions.

Anybody have menus figured out for tomorrow yet? I know its only the Spring Game, but... I'm trying to figure mine out now. Talked my wife into going with our 6 month daughter somehow. Should be fun!

We're going with Beer, Italian Sausage (grilled cheese for my daughter), kaleslaw (for the wife), chips, and ... did I mention beer?!?

Beer. Flank steak marinating. Some sort of potato side, and other goodies to be determined...

All 8 of us (6 adults, 2 grandkids) will be there by 10:30am... have never missed a spring game yet... Beer, wine, sausages, marinated chicken drums, burgers, some fish, chips, more beer and soda for the kids... Always a great time.. and in addition the Band members have always been great with the grandkids…

hot dogs, Brats, sweet sausage patties, skillet shredded potatoes, ice cold bud & coors light
Plan on arriving around 11:30-11:45

Aiming for a 1:30 arrival gotta get some stuff done first though. Hoping to find some Founders All Day IPA. Don't think I'm doing food though. Anyone know whats good with concessions? Usual fare? Limited menu? Food truck?

There's limited concessions. There's food, I think, but definitely a more limited selection than normal.

Stop by our tailgate. We'll save you something. Send me a PM.

Phil Nolan in the house!

Much respect for Phil by the way. I saw him in The Rent too and you could tell he was just trying to enjoy the day with his buddies. That being said, there wasn't a picture or autograph request that I didn't see him accept with a huge smile on his face. His stock went way up with me today. Just a very nice young man.

I remember seeing your kids with those Lone Star Statement shirts!

Agree about how nice Phil was - like you said had a smile for everyone.

We were also right near you. Right next to the Omega Psi Phi guys where Phil was hanging out all afternoon. They had some bangin' ribs and chicken over there.
Yeah, we were all in the same spot I guess! Did you try the Jamaican Rum Punch they had? Wooooooo boy. Good stuff.

It was really a perfect day but good thing I missed the punch. Funny how my twtter made me realize I was line-of-sight from Mike to the scoreboard.
