This week our crew is changing up the menu theme. Normally we base the selections on the opposition's mascot. Seeing as UAB's mascot looks like a Chinese New Year's Day Parade Dragon, we are pivoting. We could have gone a Halloween theme, but no! Sunday is All Souls's Day or Dias de los Muertos. In honor of our departed everyone is charged with bringing traditional family favorites, so a potluck. There is one constant: BEER!

I'd personally go with pulled pork, mac and cheese, corn bread, and maybe some chicken salad or pimento cheese. Some fried green tomatoes if you're feeling up to it.

It’s a noon start, so breakfast week. Yogurt parfaits and donut holes for the first course, and then brioche french toast and high quality sausage for the entree. Bloody Mary’s, screwdrivers and beer.

I like to bring a spiral sliced ham to a potluck. Very easy to prepare and pretty much everyone likes ham.

Thank you. I’m having a particularly stressful day and I badly needed that laugh. (But, to be honest, the yogurt parfait is my wife’s idea as this is her one tailgate a year she comes to because she likes the guests.)
