Was talking to a rep. of a seafood wholesaler. He said that prices are still very low. Thinking grilled swordfish, steamers, & sides (coleslaw, potato salad, etc.) Beer of the day: Clipper City Brewing of Baltimore (you'll know them at the packie-they have those wacky pirate caricatures on the label).

Just might have to try my hand at making pit beef sandwiches... Man those are tasty...

We will have crab cakes and clam chowder. Our tailgate really excels at both.
I had been thinking crab cakes as well, but I was talking Wednesday with a friend who works at Gulf Shrimp in Southington & he said that swordfish is really inexpensive at present. Of course, that was if the game was at 3 P.M. I just saw that the game is now scheduled for Noon & I don't think that anyone wants swordfish for breakfast. Crab cakes & home fries might fly though.

Lots of this.

I'm thinking baked beans made with navy beans. Eight people eating beans and drinking beer may empty out our section. I m not sure what to have with the beans.

You guys are doing this all wrong.

Take it from a retired Sailor. Put out a menu to everyone in your group that includes steak, steamed vegetable, baked potatoes and pies for dessert.

On game day serve dirty water hot dogs, crunchy undercooked rice and green-tinted scrambled eggs poured out of carton of egg product.

When anyone asks what happened to the steak, tell them..... 1. "We just ran out. This is all we have left." 2. "The deep freezer broke and all the food was spoiled." 3. "Kitchen equipment failed and this is all we can cook with what is working."

Then it's an authentic Navy tailgate.

Thinking of doing a Clam Chowder for the main dish, and then Crab Cakes & Stuffed Clams for an app. And of course beers all day long. Bringing back my bottle of HUSKY Vodka too...
