UConn will not have Thompson or Huska for the games in Arizona.

USA v Slovakia on December 28th.
 
This is a GREAT accomplishment for Thompson making this roster. Huska was pretty much a shoo-in to make the Slovakian team. Hockey East is well represented on that roster.

Huska gave up 8 goals to Finland last night in an exhibition.

Matej Tomek, North Dakota goalie, might start over Huska.

Slovakia is in an impossible group with Canada, USA, Russia, and Latvia.

Huska starts against Canada tonight at 8 pm on NHL network.

Impossible matchup for Slovakia but hopefully he has a decent showing.

Hopefully, it is similar to his showing in last year's tournament.

Huska was great.

Not only did he stop all those shots, the entire game was played in the Slovack zone.
 
He held off Canada for nearly 30 minutes and his team never picked up the slack. He did all he could.
 
Watching the game now...Huska isn't in net for Slovakia...Tage scored a unbelievable goal. US up 5-1 now.

Just got some good free recruiting hype from the announcing team about UConn hockey talking about Tage and Adam. Pretty much the only 2 they talked about as the period wound down then going into the break.

I know right! The Latvia game, Slovakia's game vs Canada, and this one right now they must have mentioned UConn at least 20 times.

He is playing really really well this tournament. Husky as well.
 
Not the best penalty shot taken by tage. Oh well. USA gets the win against russia 3-2.

Does anyone know if the desert hockey classic will be streamed at all? Would like to see nyberg...

This wasn't a HUGE win for Team USA. With one more game to go which is against Canada this team has a shot to earn the top seed out of this round and is guaranteed no lower than 2.
 
Slovakia leads 2-1 after 2nd period.

Huska with 13 saves.

If Slovakia wins, they likely play Sweden on Monday in the quarterfinals.

Huska is a big time talent and the biggest reason why UConn has a chance to make it to the Hockey East semifinals at the Boston Garden in March.
