Tabor's game against the Tilton School yesterday was "broadcasted" on The Cube. Broadcast may be a slight exaggeration, the video is a bit choppy and the scoreboard is never changed. The game starts at the 12:00 mark of the video. Molly is #10 in white, Araion Bradshaw is #12 in white, Shannon Ryan (BC Commit) is #44 in white.

Did you watch the game? For those of us who don't have a chance to sit thru it, can you share thoughts on Molly?

I only watched the first half of the video, a couple good jump shots and some good passes. The video wasn't great and mixed with my not so great eyes I couldn't see many of the "little things"

Thanks so much for posting this.

Tabor won 65-61 in OT and Molly sealed the win with 2 FTs with a few seconds remaining in OT. Molly definitely finished in double figure points. She's a pass-first guard though I thought some of her passes were forced and resulted in turnovers. She's pretty fast, handles the ball well and sees the floor well. I think she made her first 2 jumpers but not sure she made another. I can see why the UConn coaches like her. Smart, good instincts and a lot to work with. She's a good athlete and I think her perimeter shot will improve.

If I were unaware of the Hoopgurlz rankings and someone had told me that Bradshaw is ranked #32 I would have said that's crazy. Molly Bent is a better basketball player than Bradshaw.

I rewatched on my laptop which had a bit better quality than my Desktop PC and tried to keep track of her stat-line to the best of my ability. By my count I had her at 17 points (7-13 FG, 3-4 FT's), 9 Assists, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 0 blocks, 3 fouls, and 4 turnovers. I agree with UConnCat that she did force a few too many passes some resulting in turnovers but almost all of the forces were in transition being aggressive which is something that will be relatively easy for Geno & Company to fix next year. Toning down aggressiveness is much easier IMO than trying to teach it.

I agree with your Bradshaw opinion. After watching 3 of their games in person this season and this one online it is apparent to me that Molly is a significantly better player than she is. It makes you wonder how the recruiting "experts" are putting together the lists.

The evaluations are based mostly on limited AAU travel team viewings and depending on HS attended perhaps some HS tournaments. If a HS does not travel much, and is not in a major city there might be no HS viewings.

Thought there was a lot to like about Bent in this vid. Really good ball-handler, very fast, constantly moving, and seemingly a terrific natural passer. Looks as if she might have a really nice mid-range jumper as well. Strikes me as more of a point guard than a two-guard. Be interesting to see how she plays with Dangerfield.

Confess to not being able to get through it. Glad to see Molly has filled out a bit. Earlier she looked like she could blow away in a mild breeze.
