Hamilton & Miller are particularly good at getting to the spots needed in the zone gaps. That ... Plus shooters having a good game means we should have a find Turkey.
In my excitement at the prospect of playing SU, I completely forgot about their zone, which is crazy since that's their marquee program persona.
I'm not a big fan of facing teams that play a lot of zone since it often makes for stagnant offense, but If Gibbs & Purvis can continue to knock down their deep 3s and our bigs can flash to the soft spots within their zone and our guards can deliver them the basketball, I like our chances.
I love how Gibbs and Purvis are taking 3s a couple feet beyond the arc, something that I think a lot of 3 point shooters should do since defenses tend to guard arc and aren't used to guarding 2 or more feet beyond it. If you can shoot a less contested slighter deeper 3 at a greater percentage than a more contested 3 just behind the arc, why not practice and take deeper 3s? Some shooters just can't make 'em at a good enough clip from that deep, but Gibbs and Purvis have been nailing them so far this season.
