Last time we lost to Syracuse by 1 score was in 2016. I know Cuse fans must be disappointed, thinking that they were going to blow us out.

I genuinely think we could have won this game if we had better offensive play. Defense came up with some huge stops and the offense often squandered away great field position.

All said though, I’m not too mad about the loss.

Let’s go kick UMess’ ass next week and get ready to go bowling.

Guys played hard. We weren't good enough. But we are miles better than we've been.

We've got Welliver in the wings. Mora is going to keep bringing in good players. Syracuse is on the schedule for the next 3 years -- I wouldn't feel too good about that if I were them.

We are headed in the right direction. We need far better QB play (Welliver), more and better players in a few areas, more speed on defense and a bit more muscle on both lines of scrimmage.

They are the better team, have the better qb, are better in the trenches we knew that going in we knew we were gonna fight till the better end as well.

We had our chances and couldn’t capitalize off of them let’s take it to Umass next week who won’t be a pushover.

JF could have been better today. I wonder if he could be more accurate if he took a hair of velocity off.
Our play calling was odd at times.
A couple head scratching ref moments. No PI when our guy was mugged, that receiver for SU was clearly out. There was another biggie but I'm forgetting.
Regardless, SU was just a little better and deserved the W. McCord was the difference.

This game is summed up by one fact that was brought up in the game thread: if you swap McCord for Fagnano (or Evers), we win comfortably.

It's as simple as that. We've got a solid squad. But they have a QB that's headed to the pros, and that is ultimately the difference...

The refs let the play with the game winning TD go on forever. Syracuse probably would have scored on that drive anyway but I couldn't believe how long it took them to blow it dead.

That was the one I forgot. I thought it went forever as well.

The key to improving the program is and always will be speed at key positions. When we made the Fiesta Bowl we saw the difference in speed at skill positions between us and next level programs. Let's dedicate NIL to those players or recruit under the radar kids with great speed. Old cliche "You can't coach speed." is true. Coach players to put their speed to work.

Really sad that we lost to every p4 team we played. Dang, not even one.

But we are on the friggin way. Haven’t felt this excited about an upcoming portal season ever. UConn bout to be a problem in FBS and I can’t wait.
