Syracuse is terrible

Why would you do this to yourself again?

Also, keep telling us Buddy Boeheim can't play and his dad can't coach anymore, it'll probably take them right to the title game.
Because I was right and you weren’t?

Average teams aren’t fringe top 25 and make the tournament.

That is called a good team. We had a disappointing loss, but this was a good team. Not a great team
Good= average. Thanks for making my point

Average teams don't get 7 seeds in the tournament.
1) we were over seeded
2) we lost to a 10
3) we choked the bit over every good team we played , except maybe usc and it’s a stretch to call them good.

I think they will be in the final
Vs Gonzaga the way things are shaking out. I see them beating Houston/Rutgers next game and then whoever is in their elite 8 with Illinois out. The Zone can really screw things up for teams on a roll. Just my prediction

Did you ask this three weeks ago

thats the point of the post. If you have two shooters you can win games regardless of limited the rest if the players are

look at the numbers, he was not bad before the hot stretch. So what do you think based on the last 3 weeks? He is shooting over 39 % from three for the year. What’s wrong with that? could we use that?

I just saw the final minute of the cuse game, and came here. Is the thread title still valid?

Normally I say it's good for him to win somewhat so they continue keeping JB there a few more years
Now I'm thinking do we really want that? The guy is getting it done.

2016 - 10 seed - went to Final Four
2018 - 11 seed - went from First Four to Sweet 16 (and it took Duke to knock them out)
2020 - 11 seed - already in Sweet 16

You don't have to like their style but Boeheim still knows how to win games in this tourney.

And this thread title looks ridiculous. No doubt they're dropping by and getting a good laugh from it.

Some stellar mojo this weekend. Maybe the worst ever.

If Cole is our starting PG next year, nothing will change.
I disagree as he makes some nice passes. The problem nobody can make an outside shot to allow defenders not to smother our drivers. We need shooters in a bad way. Baylor who won also had some great shooters. Even West Virginia and Wisconsin who lost had better shooters than us.

The Zone is now a ACC defense option...and blame it on the Big East...

“Here’s a stat for you,” Larranaga, a data maven, says to confirm the recent ACC trend toward zones. “In 2012-13, the year we won the ACC championship, in league play only, we did not face zone more than 10 possessions in the entire 18-game schedule.”

Then Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Syracuse joined the conference, and thinking shifted. “Last year we faced zone from almost every team, including Clemson and Florida State, teams that never zone,” Larranaga says. “The only teams that didn’t zone were Virginia and Duke, and now Duke is zoning.”

More than half of the acc are Big East teams

Three weeks ago the Syracuse board was imploding and wanted Boeheim fired. Goes to show how fickle both fan bases can be at times.

Maybe why we should have a zone defense we can throw at select teams for 5-10 min a game?
Syracuse has it down to an art with an extended zone, and plays it the whole game. And, to my knowledge they have taller and long-armed guards as defenders. Not sure it makes much difference if used for a few minutes a game, unless it confuses the opponent.

Calhoun rigorously prepared for SU. To break the zone, you need outside shooters to get to the seams in the zone, a good shooter at the 4 hole, and one at the corners, both places where there is a gap in the zone. No shooters, it is a problem.

I am not sure, but I think a good driver from the 4 hole can break the zone with a good drive to the basket.

Calhoun used to kill them by running baseline angles from foul line entries. His team’s rarely got suckered into 3 chucking

I see average as a C and good as a B. And i would give Hurley a B on the season. Have a good night
Can you give B to a team that beat not one team above them? I dunno. Sounds to me like a C
