She did give the company line. Coaches prepared us, we just didn't do it. Conference over!

Duke need not even leave its conference to find a perfect replacement for McCallie. If they could pry her out of Pittsburgh (she's a native Yinzer), Suzie McConnell-Serio is a terrific coach whose team may pass Duke in ACC standings -- maybe sooner, surely later.

Suzie would be a fabulous choice - but I think it's very unlikely Duke could get her to leave Pittsburgh. She has spent her entire life there, as has her husband, and her extended family is almost all in the Pittsburgh area.

There is always some sort of buyout provision, but the new contract she signed recently carries her out to 2021. I think she will still be in Pittsburgh in 2021 and beyond.
