Very, very ugly loss for Duke. How long before they hire a new coach? Coach McCallie is not getting it done.

Wow, a 36 point loss to Syracuse? It could be a long year for Duke. At what point do they start worrying about making the tournament?

Maybe McCallie will too!

But only in upscale restaurants.

I was rooting for Duke. I will never, ever cheer for a Syracuse win as long as Q is the coach there. The guy is a jerk of the 1st magnitude. I can't think of a coach I dislike more in WCBB.

I just think that Syracuse caught Duke at a time where a lesson needed to be learned.
I have never seen a year where so many of the top 10 teams seem so vunerable. They look great one game, and terrible the next. Right now, I am watching Baylor, up by only 6 to Oklahoma in the last quarter. Ohio State: looked so bad in some games+so good in others. Hard to explain.
After Uconn, SC, and ND, the rest of the rankings are up for grabs!

Duke scored only scored 5 points in the 4th quarter.
Teams, even good teams, lose big occasionally, but 5 points in 4th has got to be disappointinging. That reads like surrender. Duke is (or should be) too good to lose like this, and I don't think that they will again.

I'm not with the group that likes to pile it on Coach McCallie, but a loss like this one sure doesn't help her standing with the Duke faithful. If this turns into a ten loss season she might wind up interviewing for a HC position elsewhere.

Just wait until we get a new coach. 2017 2018 whenever the hell it is you all just wait. This thread reminds me why I bleed Duke basketball. I'm counting the days she's gone. Just wait...

Nonetheless this is sad and pathetic out of Duke basketball. We will be back once she leaves mark my words.

Duke need not even leave its conference to find a perfect replacement for McCallie. If they could pry her out of Pittsburgh (she's a native Yinzer), Suzie McConnell-Serio is a terrific coach whose team may pass Duke in ACC standings -- maybe sooner, surely later.

Duke was so flat in this game and acted like they'd rather be anywhere besides the abysmally empty Carrier Dome. I only saw the first half before I went to our game.

i think she pretty much HAD no standing with the Duke faithful for quite a while now. She is an embarrassment to the fans, to the University, to the alumni and mostly to the poor kids whom she conned into coming to Duke to play for her. She is not only a pathetic coach, she is a pathetic individual (except, of course, for all that salary.) In short, she is gawdawful! However, it does seem that the Duke administration could not give a rodent's rectum! Damned shame. Especially for kids like Salvadores, who came thousands of miles to play basketball and get better at it.

Plus, she mispronounced "plethora." Completely unacceptable.

Regarding the Duke administration, it will be interesting to see how her buyout does or does not come in to play.

Click on the photo to the right titled LATEST VIDEOS: "Coach Joanne P. McCallie Postgame Press" for her 'insightful' comments. Wow, she actually identifies opposing players by name, not number. Anger management issues.

Offense: Duke players "didn't listen very well" - they dribbled into the press.

Defense: "No leadership on the floor in 2nd half" where defense was on the other end of the floor from the bench. In 1st half they got leadership from the bench, instructions from the bench, which wasn't possible in 2nd half.
