Get well soon Coach Hatchell, you will be in my prayers and many more people's.

Sad to hear this. I'm a hematology/oncology nurse and care for patients like Sylvia every working day. Best wishes.

This is always the toughest of news. It brings so many uncertainties with it.

Deepest blessings to Sylvia and her kids and all those touched by what is sure to be a battle.

I am very sorry to hear this news. My best wishes go out to coach and her family. .....I will certainly keep coach Hatchell in prayer.

Terrible news. I wish her a speedy recovery.... hope she is on the sidelines very very soon.

Oh my...this is horrible. I have always liked Hatchell and her candor. She seems like a very genuine person and I hope that she gets well and is able to return to the sideline to coach this spectacular crop of talent she has coming in.

Prayers up for her. She is one of the best coaches of all time in WCBB.

Wow- this is horrible news. We have been getting too many doses of reality lately - on what is supposed to be mostly fun and sarcastic banter. She seams like a great lady, and I hope all her recruits rally around the situation, and use it as a rallying point. They are loaded with a lot of raw young talent. We all obviously wish her well.

Best wishes, of course.

Incidentally, and I hope motivation for her, her Associate Head Coach that is taking over many of her duties himself had a very serious illness, probably over 10 years ago, now. Perhaps, I am not certain, a brain tumor, but something serious for sure. And came back and has been fine since.

Bless you for the important work that you do. My brother recovered from leukemia with the help of caring professionals like yourself and he has remained extremely healthy for almost ten years. I wish nothing but the best recovery outcome to Coach Hatchell. It sounds like she will receive top notch care at the UNC Comprehensive Cancer Hospital.

Tough, sad news. She's a fighter though. Prayers for her and her family.

Sad to hear this. It can be beaten though and she a competitor. I wouldn't bet against her.
