It's a shame more people were not on hand to witness it. Say what you will about UConn's declining attendance. The lack of people in St. Johns poor imitation of a high school gym is just plain sad.

Imagine what things will be like in that poor imitation of a high school gym during the NCAAs without St Johns.

If I'm not mistaken, the men play there as well

On another BE note: Providence beats #25 Villanova in OT.
Good bye #25 ranking.

Don't be talking about my beloved Alumni Hall like that.:) Spent many a day there and saw many great players from back in the day; John Warren, Joe Depre, Sonny Dove, Austin Carr, Mike Maloy, Terry Driscoll, Bob Cousy, Howard Porter, Johnny Jones, Calvin Murphy, Dennis DuVal, Billy Paultz, James Brown.
I saw James Brown as a freshman at Harvard; He was unstoppable. I was at Alumni Hall, that partuclar game, to see my former den chief, Jean Wilkinson, who was also on that fantastic Harvard freshman team. St. John's freshman team was also great, featuring the not yet mentioned Mel Davis out of Boys High. While mentioning Jean Wilkinson I have to add that he hit the longest homerun I ever saw hit by an amateur.

Women's basketball at St. John's will never warrant building a better facility, and that is, indeed, sad. But, to call it a poor imitation of a high school gym is not warranted. Named now for Lou Carnesecca, with its pool and various other facilities, it serves the university and the community very well.
