Hunter was outstanding today. Best freshman PG on the floor today.21 pts/11 reb for Gardiner, 18/13 for Beers.
22 for Citron and 19 for Westbeld. Hidalgo never did get on track. She was a pest on defense though. OSU had 2 10 second calls trying to get the ball across half court. Have you ever seen that?
Hunter really struggled for OSU today, but she had some huge plays.
The pressure D really got to her in the 2nd half. TVO as well. Had a hard time initiating the offense on quite a few possessions. But she had some big plays down the stretch. A 3 and a steal and dish to TVO.Hunter was outstanding today. Best freshman PG on the floor today.
It's over. Brink fouled out a while ago, Iriafen has 4. Wolfpack guards are destroying their counterparts. Card don't really have any dynamic perimeter players.
I agree. She did something similar last game too, fouled out early. As a senior key player you really need to be smarter than that#4 was really not a smart play, not sure what she was thinking. I wasn't too sure about #5 actually being a foul, but moot point.
I honestly think VanDerveer’s years of competing for national championships is over. Might look like a lol Hot Taek in a few years, but it’s nearly impossible for Stanford to work the portal and I think life in the ACC is going to be a rough fit. They better get some soon. Plenty of them in the ACC next season.
Across the M&W tourneys, private schools are 0-4 today (0-3 for Catholics).
3 more (2 Cath) in action tonight.
Not a Good Friday for them
Maybe I’m being an overly optimistic Wolfpack fan but after the year we’ve had this year I go into next year with expectations of being back in the sweet 16 next year.Of this year's sweet 16, I would say 10 are favored to make a return appearance next year.
Iowa and Indiana not so much.
Probably not Gonzaga.
Not sure about Baylor, Colorado, NCSt.
But the others yes. (OreSt, Stan, UCLA, USC, Tex, LSU, SC, Duke, ND, UConn)
Leading contenders to replace: IowaSt, Oklahoma.
Damn. All 6 of UConn’s titles had crazy victory margins. Crazy to see how they can win unless they dominate. After the first 2 games, I thought SC might challenge for largest margin of victory. Anything possible, but getting to 200 would be a challenge now.
SC at 103 after 3 games
** Only 5 games. Average of 31.6 is 5th best. Given weakness of 1st round opponent, probably would've been 2nd or 3rd highest if a 64-team field.
