Having a hard time finding teams I'd like to see win. A few I want to lose, but most I just don't care about.

In order of preference:

16. Duke. Obviously.

15. Ole Miss.

14/13. Auburn/Alabama. Their fans are more interested in spring football.

12. Michigan State. Izzo retires with one title.

11. Kentucky. New coach, not as hatable. Still Kentucky.

10-6. Whatever.

5. Arkansas. I'm not saying I like Calipari, but Kentucky fans are annoying, and watching the coach they ran out of town win a title in year one would at least be entertaining.

4. Florida. There was once a pride in losing to the team that won it all, but I think UConn is past that as a program.

3. Purdue. Painter seems like a good guy.

2. Tennessee. Rick Barnes has had a rough go. Him winning a title doesn't hurt us.

1. Houston. They seem fine. Why not.
 
I will root for P Bueckers and her teammates in the S16. They have a shot to win it all again.

As for the men, whatever. Even if the worst case happens, I think we'll beat them to the 7th NC.
 
I just want close games, I won't root for any non UConn team
 
Not rooting for any Big 12 teams. I don’t think I would need to explain why. I’d rather some random SEC team that doesn’t affect UConn at all.
 
Bama for financial reasons and they’d have to go through Duke.

Rooting for Paige to get a title also but I’ll take that to the women’s board.
 
GREAT question - had this one with buddies. It's a tough one. Right now, I'm all in on Michigan/Dusty & the 2 bigs. I think that's a good story and at least we have some CT ties with Wolf.

It's hard not to like the Crab 5 & Queen.

Do we want the B10 to lose their non NC streak though? I kinda like it.

Beyond that it gets thin. I'd love to see Duke lose obviously, but they're kinda like the Yankees in the 90s/2000s where once gone, you lose the fun of routing against them.

Arkansas winning it would be hilarious as it comes to UK fans. I could have some fun in that. I do like Pope, and he's done an amazing job with a pack of portalers, but not enough to make up for that fanbase. They're the worst.

I'm not sure if the SEC doesn't win, if it further motivates them to pony up, which could be bad. I could pull for Oates given his ties to the Hurley's. I'll say this, Bama is kind of a boring watch for some reason - very mechanical.

Screw the B12 - we want them wanting to up their hoops game so they come to us.

So I'll go - Michigan, Maryland, Arkansas & Bama.

This Duke team is not hateable, but it's still Duke.

I see your point on BYU, but it's hard to pull for a program that is now signing up hot dog OAD's like Dysbantsa to unprecedented NIL. I think it sets a bad trend, and too deeply aligned what's wrong these days. Watching a Mormon empire build with a wealthy tech guy just feels weird for the sport.
 
Anyone except Duke or Purdont. Purdue fans are insufferable and whine about everything UConn or Hurley related.

Not sure I'm really rooting for any of them. I usually hope that the team that eliminated my team wins it all ("if you're good enough to beat us, then you should be able to beat everyone"), but not sure I want an SEC team to win. Might root for Purdue since I went to grad school there and went to plenty of games at Mackey (obviously couldn't/didn't root for them last year).
 
I went to Tennessee and I root UConn over them but Rick Barnes seems decent enough and it would be a big deal for them.
 
I'm interested in how Florida does the rest of the tournament, and I will be rooting for the humiliation of the Duke Blue Devils
 
Houston, Ole Miss, Tx Tech would be fine. Maybe Bama

The rest:

Duke/Arkansas- obvious

Any Big 10 team- want to see their streak of not winning go on as long as possible

BYU- the new Kentucky

Kentucky- the old Kentucky

Tennessee- Rick Barnes just seems smarmy to me

Auburn- Bruce Pearl IS smarmy

Florida I could live with because we probably will have given them the best game of anyone
