Susan Herbst: "Greater Involvement In New Haven"

Was just about to post the same thing Drew.

"Herbst told them UConn is so popular that the university received 35,000 applications for its 5,200-member freshman class, and that includes all UConn campuses, including Storrs. She added that UConn has become an international university, where a top-notch faculty teaches students from around the globe, and that Gov. Dannel Malloy “is our advocate, especially when it comes to the type of growing research and economic development work that is happening at UConn.’’

Interesting. I really think building up UConn-Stamford would do wonders for engaging the southern part of CT. Stamford could have a really cool set up in an ever growing area for recent college graduates, most of them Huskies.
The Headline is pandering to the locals.

There is a line in the story that includes Fairfield County as well.

She and Newton pledged that the university’s top scholarship, fundraising and alumni engagement organization would be extending its reach in New Haven, Fairfield County and Hartford, the release said. “This is not a one-time visit,” Newton said of the informational session.
