Surprise: Stewie is MVP!

Seems MVP of the WNBA Finals (The championship naturally comes with that) is an award she should be adding to her list. One for each thumb. :)

Former UConn Star Breanna Stewart Wins WNBA MVP Award

So confusing! What was announced the other day???

And Sue got the Good Sportsmanship award. Her 3rd.

"After two seasons in the WNBA, Breanna Stewart had 31 wins and 39 losses – that’s nearly eight times the amount of losses she had in four years of college. Enough was enough. The losing had to stop.

“It’s time to start winning,” Stewart said after a Storm practice prior to the tip-off of the 2018 season. “I don’t want to come off as crass or cocky or anything like that, but losing sucks. It does. That’s just how I feel about it. And, no, I won’t ever get used to it. I can’t. That’s not how I’m wired.”

She was named Associated Press Player of the Year

Well deserved. Best player on the best team. Liz Cambage will win in the future.
Watch out for EDD.
If memory serves, EDD was MVP her second year in the league. Maybe someone else can confirm or deny.

Nope, 3rd year in league for EDD per WNBA. Chart in Stewie article here:

First MVPs By Season
1st Season: 3 players (Cynthia Cooper 1997, Yolanda Griffith 1999, Candace Parker 2008)
3rd Season: 4 players (Jackson 2003, Charles 2012, Delle Donne 2015, Stewart 2018)
4th Season: 2 players (Sheryl Swoopes 2000, Maya Moore 2014)
5th Season: 2 players (Lisa Leslie 2001, Nneka Ogwumike 2016)
6th Season: 1 player (Diana Taurasi 2009)

She won ROY in 2013 and MVP 2015 so year 3.

She won ROY in 2013 and MVP 2015 so year 3.
OK, I stand corrected on the chronology. My main point was that EDD had already won an MVP award.

Cambage is talking like she just may ditch the WNBA. Can't say I'd miss her.
Cambage is an impressive player. Yes, she has attitude problems, but she improved as the year went on. She talks as much as DT does.

EDD was a year older than most, because of her red-shirt year at Delaware. She won in her 3rd season in the WNBA, but was 7+ years out of high school, whereas Tina and Stewie won it 6+ years out of high school.

She also sat out a year, in which she didn't touch a basketball. And she also chose to not play for UConn and get the four years of development Stewie and Charles got. So I'm not sure what her being a year older means if she lost a year, and chose a far inferior system to develop in.

Possibly a year more mature, physically and mentally.
