Hey guys Cyclone fan here and just getting used to your board.

What are a couple of your guy's surprise teams on your brackets. Maybe not a first round upset, or a 15 over a 2. But teams to make deep tournament runs.

For me I have Baylor in the Final 4, K State to the Elite 8 (not trying to be a XII homer just think they pose matchup problems for anyone), Marquette to knock off Mizzou (think Crowder will dominate in tourney).

What are some of your surprise picks?

possible 2nd round exit this year

I think Memphis & New Mexico might be under the radar, and WVU gets to play two home games
 
I could see Long Beach Sate winning a game or two against New Mexico and Louisville.
 
New Mexico to the final four, their probably the best team nobody knows about... yet. They've got it all and a hot heading into the tourney like this team a lot, UNLV to the elite 8 because of pure matchups. If they get past Colorado they are looking good considering Baylor and Duke will play at their pace, ask UNC how that worked out. Feel like this is a very tough bracket especially the west you could make a case for 8 teams possibly 9 depending on how you feel on Long Beach State to come out of that region.

I have Iowa St making it to halftime of their opening game. ;)
 
Um...Iona. Wow. Awfully early, but they really do look VCU-ish at the moment.

South Florida? Really? Stranger things have happened, I guess. But that Big East tourney performance was not encouraging

I'm hearing a lot of Long Beach State. What is about them? I look that their resume and i don't see it. I haven't seen them play, so maybe they're good. I'm watching Iona now, and if they keep this up, I'd say the committee got it right with them. They are very good and belong.

This is true but I feel they can beat cal, temple, and Michigan All not very strong.

Long Beach State is legit just got a terrible draw against New Mexico, I'd pick the Beach over anyone in the 5 seed range except New Mexico. If you haven't seen them play you wouldn't understand, force a lot of turnovers and Casper Ware is a straight baller very exciting player to watch. They've played on the road against the likes of Kansas, Louisville, Pitt, and UNC so they've been tested. Was really pissed to see them get matched up against New Mexico because I liked both teams to go far in the tourny, will be a great game to watch though, one i would advise to check out before the UConn game if you wanna see some good exciting basketball.

I saw long beach state play in the big west championship game and I thought they are going to be tough out! That first round game vs the lobos should be a good one.
