can we get a mod to pin this thread on the ot entertainment board or the other sports board or something just to hang onto it for 2 months....

@superjohn says bazz will stay at uconn

the loser of the bet loses the user name he posts here under, a mod or fishy/tom can delete it and make it never possible to use that name again.

superjohn can respond to this to accept the bet or be a poster. this thread can be the running tally of the bet but not on a main board so it doesn't bother ppl. a mod can move it to the other board once superjohn agrees to the bet.

becuase hes going to get drafted in the 7-20 range in the draft. thats why hes leaving.

wait are u saying that i have said some things on here that have come true? that would mean that i have some info or know something. thats simply not the case, as superjohn would tell u.

Work is holding me back, I can't post every minute brother. Sure I'll take the bet but I think we should have different terms. I don't want to see another passionate UConn fan get banned from the site, that's just incredibly stupid. I bet for money but instead of just a regular $ bet, the loser sends his money to the Calhoun boneyard medical center fund. Hopefully the winner would feel inclined to match and maybe it would get some donations going again.

i should have been more clear, this is my bad. i ment the user name gets deleted. the poster can start from scrath with a new one here. the winning person can pick the losers avi. something like that.

on a side note, i am also in for the JC fund. i think thats a good idea. i am on board for $50 to it plus a $1 for every win uconn gets on top of that already which i will add to that fund at the end of the season as the ppl who are running that thing know already. i don't have deep pockets or anything but i am down for like a $25 bet? so if i lose i will be in it liek $100 all together or if i win the bet like $75 ish...

how does that sound?
 
Sure I'll do $100 and you can change my board handle if I lose. At least with the $ going to the Calhoun fund everyone will win and it will make it less likely that you will be rooting for Bazz to declare for the draft.

i'm game for $50. and its for a good cause. the user name thing i guess isn't a good idea. how about winner gets to pick a avitar for the loser and that must be used for 1 year time..so theres soem type of good clean fun involved past the JC donation stuff?

also, maybe we can take our bet to the bball board and get some more good $ from posters based off it. maybe they can place bets on which of us will be correct....

$100 to JC? alright i'm in. lets figure this out. i wont complain about anything. i can only talk about actual games/practice stuff and talk about recruiting info i have. basically just not complain about what uconn is doing or warde/susan...hows that sound? and for how long?

So here is the bet....

Dan and John are betting on Shabazz declaring for the draft - Danny boy says he will, John boy says he won't.

The loser of the bet will kick $50 to the Calhoun charity ride that's coming in June.

I hate to knock one of our own, but you must mean Bazz will go 7-20 in the NBDL draft, right?

The guy is ranked on DraftExpress the 57th best junior. He would almost certainly go undrafted if he declared. The only way you are winning this bet is if he leaves UConn for other reasons - he's not going to go pro. Short, shoot first PG's without NBA athleticism don't generally get picked high in the NBA.

Nobody that good stays at our program for all 4 years. I think HFD is spot on fwith this.

I'm in the middle. Agree with HFD that Shabazz will get the looks. KO pretty much declared it is already happening. His statement wasn't SN checking things out but based on his contacts with the NBA imo.

But SuperJohn may win because SN is the type of kid who, like KO wants the program to do well. So he may opt out. KO will push him to go pro because less competition from this years class. It will be interesting.
 
I just read something that this years NBA draft will be the absolute worst in years and that there are like 10 to 12 guys that will probably come out in the 2014 draft that would go ahead of anyone this year except Noel. So if Bazz is going to come out it is probably best that he do so after this season. Not that he is ready to be a big contributor in the NBA next season. Carter-Williams will be drafted ahead of him for sure. Bazz will probably spend time in the D League next season.

Bazz going 7-20?? I would make a bet on that and give you odds.

He very well might leave. But there is a 0% chance that he would go in the lottery, and even that is conservative. There's no way he'd go ahead of MCW, Smart, or Burke, and those are just the kids who play his position.
