HuskyNan edit: The time has been changed to 7:30 p.m. Sunday

The schedule has us playing Providence on January 30 at 11:00 A.M.

The only reason I can think of for that starting time is that Sunday has both the
AFC and NFC conference championship games. One at 3...the other at 6:30.
Perhaps the powers that be want fans in attendance to have time to get home to watch the football...
figuring a PM start might dwindle the crowd.

Any other reasons?

BTW: On Super Bowl Sunday...February 13...UConn does play Marquette at 2:30...
time enough to enjoy the game and get home for the SB around 6:30.

BTW#2: it was a great football weekend with the Sunday night KC/Buffalo game
a classic....the back and forth in the last few minutes was tremendous.

Appreciate that info, UConnCat. I assume they will be doing our game as well.

I appreciate the notice, my newspaper is
notorious for errors in times! Thanks.

Yes but that’s why game time is 11 am.

Or it was. Rumor is that it’s being resked to later in the day.

Gary Apple last night said no pre or post game show, so just the game at 11.

Probably not great for the team to start at such a weird time anyway. Hope it's something reasonable like 1 or 2.

If the PC men are now playing at noon, then the womens' game would be 3 or later
But there's the TV issue as SNY is booked from 1-8 pm

Starting to feel better about the upcoming UConn games. Just realized now that the excited anticipation of a game has been absent from my demeaner until recently. The surprise of Carolines play, Nika coming back pushing the team, and last night Christyn and Azzi back on the floor. The performance of these four girls will be awesome going forward, and with Paige coming back things may be back to normal, maybe better. AHH, feel good now.

I heard the weather excuse was more based on accommodating the men and less on the weather.
PC-Marquette mens game was moved to 12:30 Sunday because of the storm. Since the venue of the women’s game changed also not sure if the two relate but very possible both changes were driven by the mens side if the Dunkin Center was not available Sunday night.

If the weather excuse is/was used, IMO it's a valid one. Here's the latest weather forecast for Saturday in Rhode Island.

The UConn women’s basketball team’s game with Providence Sunday has a new time and venue. The schools and the Big East announced Thursday that the conference matchup between the New England rivals originally scheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center will be played Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Alumni Hall on the Friars’ campus. Winter weather is expected to impact the Providence area on Saturday. The game will be televised by SNY. Providence’s game with Creighton today in Omaha was moved from 7:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. so the Friars could fly home before the storm hits.

Here's Carl Adamec's take on Wednesday's win against DePaul -

Man - logistics teams workin' overtime (and site staff losing income). Not an easy year.

I hope the team is planning to travel on Friday and get there before the storm.

The game was basically moved to another site and time so the Providence men could take the spot
