Texas shot 83% in the 1st quarter and outrebounded NCState 13-3 to take a commanding 28-15 lead. Wolfpack got away from their game plan.
 
DePaul holding there own vs Mss St. 26 - 26. Did not expect that at their home.
 
Maryland with Jones on the bench go up 27-18. I see you Confroy.
 
Silly foul by Jones gives her a prime seat again.
 
WVA down 29-20 starting to look a little flustered. Martin with 6 points early hasn't scored in the 2nd quarter.

This is why they were 8-10 in the Big 12. Sometimes their offense gets disjointed and they run hot and cold.
 
Texas, meanwhile, has cooled off and NC State has mounted a little comeback. Down 30-25 now.
 
NCState with runs of 10-2 and 5-0 to cut the Texas lead to 34-30, 5:11 left 2nd quarter. Timeout Texas.
 
Slocum with and unbelievable 3 at the end of the 1st half. Watch for it on ESPN highlights.

DePaul has beaten higher seeds in 2nd-round road games in 2 of the past 3 years. At Duke in 2014, at Louisville in 2016. Underestimate them at your peril.

Too long of a break. They should've played Maryland the day after beating Baylor.

Well, this game is at least exciting. Wild swings of momentum back and forth.

This game has been a microcosm of Texas' season. 28 points in 1Q, only 9 in 2Q. And Texas has SIX players with 2 fouls each.
 
so Miss St and TX with one point leads into the half, Maryland just whacked WVU in the second quarter getting their offense going finally. martin is 3-13, if she doesn't heat up this puppy is over.

This TX game is Geno's nightmare foul fest kind of game. 25 fouls in the first half pretty evenly distributed.

I'm telling ya, that senior NC State backcourt of Wilson and Spencer could be the difference maker in this game.

Wow, Jacqui Grant of DePaul just picked up her 4th foul midway through 3Q. The announcer just said she's only played a total of 8 minutes so far due to foul trouble.

Miss St out to a 9-point lead now. And now Schulte just picked up foul #3. Not looking good for Bruno's team.

Steal fest now for NCState...2 by Wilson and one for Spencer. Wolfpack up by 6 now.

And then Spencer steals in the inbound pass and makes it an "and 1" picking up the foul on Holmes.

This second half has been all NC State so far, and they're up 45-39.
